We had the good fortune of connecting with Pete Alcide and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pete, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Other then following my dreams, I’ve always wanted to create something that will serve the community. I’ve always wanted to make the rules without any political agenda and I’m not restricted by the standards and procedures of a boss or corporate culture. I can offer a service that fits my vision. I can also build a company according to my own ideas. I want to make sure my employees get fair wages and family leave time. I’ve encountered many problems in the working world, in my own business, I have a chance to do something different.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Pete Alcide is a filmmaker who started as a stage actor, in a drama group and other feature productions before making his way behind the camera. Although he spent part of his career working as psychologist and professor, he switched over to his dream career as a filmmaker in 2006 and has dedicated the past several years writing, producing and directing with other productions and performing on stage. He felt compelled to share his visions and creations though, now, PA Films. He has worked on multiple films. Pete is constantly working on making a difference in the community and his goal is to create new avenues that will allow young minds and talents to evolve and produce creative work that will inspire our community and the world. Pete has made several short films, mini series and web series, his most recent project and first feature film, “LUPEO” is currently streaming on Prime Video and Vimeo, for which he’s won a few festival awards, with plans on populating to peacock and other streaming services. Being in the development stage for his new project “Haylee” it’s one of his passion projects and working hard for its success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I suppose it depends on who is visiting, let’s say it’s my 16 yr old niece – who’s also my goddaughter, for a week trip we would… – Monday: we would visit THE ZOO then eat Peace Love & Pizza
– Tuesday: we would visit the capital building then eat at Cafe Sunflower
– Wednesday: we would visit Piedmont Park and return home to eat a home cook meal
– Thursday: we would go to the local pool in my subdivision and keep a low profile
– Friday: we would visit Suntrust Park (baseball stadium)

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
