Perspectives on work life balance

The Coronavirus has given many us an opportunity to pause and think about life, our purpose, and even the right work life balance. What’s your perspective and has it changed over time?

I never realized how much time I dedicated to working until the pandemic started. Once I started working from home, I noticed that I was missing out on so many activities because I was away at work and doing overtime. I definitely try to dedicate more time to myself now and focus on my mental health and happiness. Read more>>

Work life balance is more than important. When I first opened my business I did not have the best balance. I can honestly say that has changed. I keep myself balanced by doing yoga, meditating and investing in self care. I also spend a great amount of time with my family and friends. Read more>>

It’s really evened out for me in the very important areas of my life. It wasn’t a super conscious decision to work for myself, more so circumstance fr. It’s kind of funny that I used to believe that I had a really good concept of balance but as life has interjected itself into my overall scheme, I have realized that I had been acting very reactive to the things that happened in my life. Before last year I had zero work life balance, but you can only continue to burn your candle from both ends for a limited amount of time. Life has a way of making you re-evaluate what’s important to you. Now when I work, I only want to take on projects that make me happy and inspired. I find it ironic that most people attracted to a career in real estate think that they will have flexible hours and it’s easy to reach a work life balance. Over the 2 years I’ve been in business, the balance I’ve had between work and life has fluctuated many times. I started my business in the middle of a pandemic and graduate school. You know, this is a huge problem I see developing in America. People are so caught up with making the absolute most money they can, that sometimes they forget to balance out their time. There’s a trade off. If you overwork yourself it will consume your entire social life.
