Most of the media often paints all businesses with a single stroke, but in our experience businesses are each unique and so many of them are focused on making the world a better place. We’ve highlighted a few such gems below.

Dr. Melanie & Oshea Luja | Integrative Medicine Specialists, Relationship Coaches, Soulwork Practitioners

Our work is all about cultivating wellness from the inside out, not just for individuals but for entire communities. Through The Balance Portal, Oshea and I are building something far bigger than a clinic—it’s a movement, a space where people can reconnect with their bodies, tune into their inner wisdom, and find balance. We believe that when someone heals on the inside, they show up stronger and more resilient in the world. And that ripple effect? It touches families, communities, and beyond. Read more>>

Jada Jackson | Lifestyle Engineer and Digital Journalist

Growing up in Atlanta instilled in me a profound love for community and culture. This city has always been a place of resilience, creativity, and opportunity, and it’s where I first fell in love with storytelling. My journalism background gave me the tools to dive deep into narratives, uncover the heart of a story, and connect with people on a meaningful level. But it was traveling the world that truly expanded my perspective and ignited a deeper passion for new experiences. Read more>>

Butlerfly Interiors was created to be a transformative Interior Design Studio, and later an Architecture and Design Firm, to build and restore homes and third spaces in urban communities. The process was also crafted to teach others how to sustain said transformation; how to live as the Butterfly. Read more>>

Carleigh Clark | Costume Designer and Fashion Consultant

As a stylist and costume designer, I view fashion as a powerful form of storytelling—an unspoken language that conveys identity, values, and even status at a glance. My background in costume design has allowed me to create entire worlds through fabric, shaping characters from indie sets to real life. From crafting garments for the stage to precision work as a seamstress, I’ve seen firsthand how clothing can transform how someone feels, moves, and connects. Fashion is woven into every aspect of life, shaping confidence, community, and culture. It’s not just what we wear—it’s who we are, and what we want the world to see. Read more>>

Leilani Madrigal | Licensed Massage Therapist + Holistic Healer

Let’s share a moment of honesty together: how many times have you been hugged today? Not as many as you’d like, I’m sure. We live in a society where our days are fast paced, an “on to the next thing” type of lifestyle that we usually don’t take the time to slow down, take a breath, and truly enjoy the present moment with ourselves or with our loved ones. Easy Tony | Creative Director

DREAMGARDENS changes the world everyday by reminding people to discover and honor the part of themselves that creates with ease. The creator in each of us is powerful, strong, expressive and intuitive. We don’t get to see enough of this in our world today because we live in a time where money is made by encouraging us to consume, spectate, give away our attention and focus. Creation and consumption sit opposite on the scale and should have some level, some balance. Read more>>

Clara Frances Dawkins | 500RYT Yoga Therapeutic Specialist and Personal Trainer

In 2020, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a nervous system disorder that heightens pain sensitivity in the body. For several years, I battled with intense fear, pain and feelings of loneliness; however, with the help of any amazing community, I ultimately found confidence again through a yoga practice and weight training. It all stems here. My mentors, friends and teachers who came alongside me are my inspiration and why I want so much to do the same for others. My goal is to empower my students and clients, to allow them to go beyond what they ever thought possible for themselves, to show them that they are strong and capable. This is why I became a yoga instructor and personal trainer. This is my mission. To help as many people as I possibly can to live their best lives and be their best selves. Read more>>

Denzel Redd | Hip-Hop Artist

Being an artist is one of the illest skills someone can have. Whether it’s songwriting, acting or painting, we all desire to translate a message that was gifted to us by God. To be able to articulate what we feel into words, or bring our vision to life on a canvas requires an amount of stillness that I don’t think a lot of people have in our fast pace society. It takes not only a high level of awareness to distinguish the physical from the spiritual world, but a high level of sensitivity to notice when your antennas are going off. Read more>>

Jessica Davis

I think it’s important for all businesses to try to have some higher mission besides making money. In my Nest Studio hardware business, one of the things I love that we do is helping moms re-enter the workforce. This happened organically as I started the business as a new mom myself. All of our employees are local moms. Our company is based outside of New York City and there are so many talented and skilled mothers who have left the workforce to raise their kids but want to get involved again. This can be really hard if you’re not looking for full time work, don’t want to commute into New York City or need to work around your kids’ schedules. We try really hard to provide flexible employment, a great work environment and a fun group of people to be around. Read more>>
