We had the good fortune of connecting with Zeonca Roseberry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zeonca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to pursue my passion for fitness. I’ve been training since 2013, and I always felt as though training women was my calling. My main mission was to help them obtain their fitness goals and live a healthier lifestyle. So, ” Fitz Girlz Rock” just came to me naturally!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is a women’s only gym that is located in Covington, Ga. Fit Girlz Rock was founded in 2013. We are not only helping women live a healthier lifestyle, but we are forming a sisterhood. What sets me apart from others is how optimistic I am and the rarity of my all-women’s gym. I am most proud of all the years of praying and manifesting my own gym, and finally making it happen! I worked for piedmont for 11 years and I constantly told my colleagues that I would be a full-time entrepreneur, and as of December 2020 I’ve made that happen while stepping out on faith. This hasn’t been an easy process and I overcame all of the challenges by defeating the odds. Some lessons that I’ve learned along the way is that a business will always have its ups and downs and it’s not as easy as social media makes it seem. I wake up daily and do what I love. Life doesn’t get better than that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to downtown Covington, which is known as a historic film town. It is home to the fan favorite show, “The Vampire Diaries.” This flourishing town has multiple tourist sights surrounding its historic figure, such as Mystic Grill!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My clients that have supported me since day one.
