We had the good fortune of connecting with Zain Moosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zain, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I think the whole idea is to understand your goals and the impact of what you are doing. No matter how small or big, everything matters. If you know your goal and are prepared to reach all limits to achieve it, then giving up is not an option.
However this is easier said than done, to be honest, and sometimes you have to read the signs and accept that it’s time to let go at that particular time.
I wouldn’t want to say “give up” because letting it go for a specific time doesn’t necessarily mean quitting, it means you are reprioritizing and making the most of your situation rather than investing valuable resources into something that may not work at that time and end up frustrating and demoralizing yourself.
One should be focusing on the next thing that will have a bigger impact and help achieve your goal sooner and in a more effective manner.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Currently, I am setting up our digital experience business in North America whilst doing other things. Although what we do may not be different from any other digital experience business here, however, I am a firm believer that if you can’t set your product apart from others, your customer service and results reaped from what we do will. We are a boutique agency in the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and now the United States, and our mission is to facilitate the storytelling of every SMB and mom & pop business.
I have worked with giant corporations and although they remain our biggest customers in terms of revenue, our aim is to one day become a dedicated firm for SMBs or struggling businesses where we can show the difference, and support them in growing their business and experience the dynamic world of digital marketing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am still new here but I am loving the vibe, people, and food. I am yet to spend a full week trying new things so I am not sure I am an expert at building an itinerary yet but soon.
However, just to give you some perspective, I would start with a visit to Piedmont Park and a small picnic then head downtown to the Coca-Cola factory for sure. After that, roam around downtown and maybe take a ride on the Sky-Atlanta wheel. Although I am not very outdoorsy, my wife is, so I would go for a hike for sure. Recommend grabbing some sushi at Fudo for lunch, then an apple pie at Pie Bar with a coffee. I wouldn’t miss the chocolate chip cookies at Chick-Fil-A and Sublime donuts though.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe nothing is achievable without having supportive and understanding people around you and in my case, it is only fair to give full credit to my wife Abeer and my childhood buddy and business partner, Ashraf. They have not only been supportive, cooperative, and always there for me, but they have also extended their love and care during the time I was starting off the entrepreneurship journey which is not easy especially when you have always been in the corporate world and taking a leap into a new direction can be a daunting experience.
