Meet Yolanda Drew | Business Strategist: Content/Marketing Management

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Drew and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yolanda, what matters most to you?
The most important principle for me is building strong and productive communities. I am sure we’ve all heard the phrase “Give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day but teach a man to fish and he’ll eat forever”. That saying has always stuck with me and made me think, “How can i be an ally to those around me”? The action of uplifting others activates confidence and gratitude that permeates through the community and creates a sense of purpose for others. When we are an asset to those around us, inventive communities are being built. I believe that your light truly shines when you have the ability to brighten someone else’s light and being that supportive and active person in someones corner can result into enormous success. So I make it my mission to always brighten someones light when I connect with them, so they leave knowing how to “fish” and be self sustainable for the community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Two important principles i stand for are community and knowledge. We focus more on the strong communal aspect of our clients business. As I’m sure we know, business can’t strive if it doesn’t have the support of a community. Customizing each plan to fit our clients specific goals. The most exciting part for me is when i get to meet business owners who are just as passionate and driven about the acceleration and social impact of their company as I am is truly magically. I’ve learned that when your light shines, if you’re not assisting others to reach their light; are you really shining? I believe serving the community that supports your business creates more loyal clients and the end results for you are more engagement on social media, reoccurring clients, and new clients from recommendations.
I am where I am today mostly of long hours and dedication and the other half, the support of my friends and family. I poured myself into my business and largely consumed knowledge that would support my growth. It was not an easy road what so ever. When i first started my business, I was working a job that i didn’t enjoy. So, I quit. I had a plan, I wanted to start my own business as a Virtual Assistant. It was a position I felt comfortable with for my skill level. It was a few rough months of zero clients and no revenue coming in. My bills were pilling up, but eventually i got one client and that one client turned into two and three and so on. All because of the relationships i was building with my clients. They became long lasting and spread the word for me. I’ll always treasure those moments. Which is why I stress community and client relationship so hard. It can very seriously make or break your business growth.
Lessons i’ve learned from running a business would have to be again understanding the people you serve will teach you how to approach them marketing wise, catering to their problems, and cultivate those relationships. You’ll see that they will become long lasting clients. Sincere Auxiliary is a company that recognizes the unique gift that a business brings to their communities and we want to assist in strengthening those relationships. It can be a difficult road but if it’s your passion see it through with no plan B.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming to visit i would first have to take her to some amazing brunch spots like Ms. Icey’s Kitchen or The Real Milk & Honey Restaurant. Each one has delicious food that you can’t miss. Then, we have to check out the farmers marketplaces, because how do you come to Atlanta and not shop. Then, we can chill and hang out at the zoo because no matter how old we get, we love the zoo. Im excited to show her all the hiking trails like “Stone Mountain Park” and the tours we can take about Dr. Martin Luther King, Centennial Olympics Park and World of Coca-Cola. and so much more. We are all about history and being outside on nice days so the botanical gardens and as many museums as we can fit in on her trip.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A huge shoutout to my Mother (Joann), Father (Eric), and Grandmother (Laraine), they are my biggest support unite and instilled in me the power of knowledge and influence. With great research and understanding creates innovation because the problem you face is now being understood. Also, shout out to my amazing friends Amari and Kevin, they are the type of people you can run to when your feeling a little lost or need a brain storm session. They inspire me to be limitless in my approach and fluent in my thinking.
