We had the good fortune of connecting with Wormdiet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wormdiet, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Creativity has always been a part of me, I can’t control my creativity. I’m always creative and I’m always thanking of new things I can create, that’s why I love video editing I can let all my ideas and creative thoughts flow into a video in so many different ways. I also love the community there are so many amazing and inspirational people you can meet in the creative field! I love everyone I’ve met so far and continue to meet! So I guess I didn’t really pursue this career it’s just who I am.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well my name is Worm Diet, I came up with the name a long time ago just because I thought it sounded weird, I never actually thought that name would become who I am today. When I was in high school I started video editing for fun and I liked to do it my own way and not follow all of the tutorials on YouTube I liked to just mess around with things and see what I could do on my own, I’ve always liked to edit videos my own way, overtime I started posting videos that I edited online mainly on social media and people started to like the way I did it, I fell in love with editing and I started to do it every single day, I would edit a new music video every week. After I graduated I started getting videos with huge artists and it kind of just had a chain reaction, The more I practiced my art the better I got. And overtime people just started to refer to me as Worm instead of my actual name which I thought was pretty cool, and now I love to just expand my skills and continue doing what I’m doing, video editing.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in Atlanta is honestly the abandoned spots, lots of people go to these places and paint and I love to see art from multiple different people not even knowing who they are or ever seeing them, it almost tells a story in a way. I find these spots very peaceful. But if I was going to party I would probably go to revery vr bar, shout out to revery! It’s a very fun place to hang out! Another place in Atlanta that I always love to go to is the masquerade, I just like to see new bands every once in a while.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out Coi Leray, she was my first big video that I really got and after that video, she pretty much Blasted in my name out two lots of other amazing artists, I made the video/animation video for “Better days” and after that video dropped I got so much support and commissions from hundreds of people! So big shout out to Coi Leray for really helping get my name out there!
