We had the good fortune of connecting with William “Trey” Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William “Trey”, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
T.A.G (The Alcohol Guy) Team Mixologists started as a trio back in 2015; two bartenders and one chef. We were starting our catering and mobile bartending company due to the many requests and wants of our customers at a local restaurant we worked. We began servicing many customers outside of the restaurant which led us wanting to start our own company. When it came time to become officially licensed, life happened and it boiled down to just me! Today, T.A.G Team Mixologists, LLC provides top notch services for weddings, anniversaries, reunions, parties, birthdays, corporate functions, bachelor and bachelorette events, and more in the Atlanta area and beyond. We also provide signature mixed cocktails, healthy cold pressed juices, and classes for aspiring bartenders and mixologists.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from other bartending businesses is my fun personality and innovative signature cocktails. When I’m booked for events, I really make a concerted effort to ensure everyone is having a good time. I want everyone to #GETTAGD and have a memorable experience.

Just like any road we travel in life, my road has not always been smooth. While transitioning from a teacher to bartender to business owner, there have been obstacles and lessons that made me stronger and better. The biggest obstacles I faced as a business owner are licensing and gaining exposure. Fortunately, T.A.G. Team Mixologists have made great progress in those areas and will continue to do so.

Also I quickly learned that not everyone I expected to be dependable would be but I used that revelation for motivation to continue to persevere and maintain faith in myself.

I won’t stop, I won’t quit, and you WILL #GETTAGD !

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It would be a good mix of mental stimulation and “lituation” spots. Some of my favorite spots for mental stimulation are the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Coca-Cola Museum, Zucot Gallery, and High Museum of Art. My favorite spots for a “lit” experience are The Gathering Spot (TGS), Mazzy’s, ASW Distillery, and Down Home Brewery just to name few.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my family, friends, and supporters for all of their love and support in helping me grow and build my business and brand. And special thanks to my beautiful sister Jeanine for being such an integral part in helping me establish my business.
