We had the good fortune of connecting with Will Stylz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Will, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simple after working for different companies. I realized that as a whole your employer doesn’t really care about you. You can be early and the last one to leave work every day, along with giving a 110% effort/compliant (company policies) while doing your job and they will still find a way to terminate you once you say no. What I mean by saying no is, when they ask you to do things your not obligated to do but you did it anyway because you wanted to show loyalty etc. Now when asked and you say no, you start to feel/see how you’re not treated the same way anymore. Lol you have to put up with the bullshit because you need the money. I never been and never will be a fake individual, that’s the initial reason I realized that I would need to go into business for myself.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The major record label showcase is an elite platform for unsigned artists producers and dancers. The platform allows unsigned artist producers and dancers to showcase their talents in front of official personnel from the major record labels, radio stations & other high profile media outlets. The judges we have on the panel/hosts have the ability to take certain material of interest straight to the person who can press the button meaning make a deal go through at a record label. Also we have djs who can break new artists music on major radio in different markets and more. We also offer other services to unsigned artists such as 1 on 1 consulting meetings/music reviews with personnel from the major record labels or the major radio stations. In those meetings we discuss things like strategical role out plans for new projects. We also talk about marketing, how to build a brand things they need to help get traction/awareness and more! In these meetings the artists also build a rapport with the personnel from the major record labels or radio stations, and they’re basically on the radar now. The professionals they met with checks in on them monitoring their movements.

After rendering these services some of the things that make me me proud is to see some of the artists actually implement the valuable information we give them to their projects and see the progress/traction being gained from it. Another great feeling is when we have a showcase and artists producers & dancers fly in from all over to New York City to be on our platform. I’m talking artist from London, Canada, and at least 20 out of 50 states touched down in NYC to rock on our platform! I get excited every time as if it was our 1st MRL Showcase! Other great feelings are when people stop me in the streets, text, call or a social media post saying how much they appreciate what we do! I get glassy eyes every time!!!! It’s a GREAT FEELING TO HELP OTHERS!! BEST FEELING EVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting to this point wasn’t easy and I still have a good way to go but I know some of the things that got me this far is God, prayer, setting short/long term goals, consistency, drive, living righteously, and a positive mental attitude!

Definitely wasn’t an easy ride I remember even being homeless and sleeping on the beach. It’s tough when only you have the vision and trying to get others to believe.

Some valuable lessons I learned along the way was, I knew some people don’t want to see you win. Others will copy what you do. You can help people make money/give opportunities and the same people will act like you didn’t show them how to do it.

I would like the world to know we are passionate about creating impeccable outlets/services for artists, producers & dancers!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When anyone comes to NYC I definitely take them to the vegan restaurants. Catch a water taxi ride (boat) sails around the NYC Harbor. Good ole subway ride and feel like a NEW YORKER lol Take a walk through the city streets in Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn & Queens (shopping, site seeing etc) Definitely some nightlife (clubs, lounges, Broadway plays). Doing that you will encounter bums – Billionaires!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
GOD! I pray errr morning for everybody that’s a fact!!!!!!! Soon as I wake up I hit that knee and I pray for family, friends, enemies & err body that’s in a bad situation. I’m grateful to be in good health and mobile!
