Meet Will Revilo” Harvey | 3D Artist and Motion Media Designer”

We had the good fortune of connecting with Will “Revilo” Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Will “Revilo”, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m originally from Dalton, a small town out in Northwest Georgia, where the idea and processes of motion graphics and 3D art are not familiar. That didn’t deter me though from wanting to pursue it and it became one of the catalyst to make me want to dive deeper into 3D and editing software. What really made me want to pursue it even further though were watching movies and trying to figure out what they did to create scenes and effects. That lead to a rabbit hole of information and understanding of different techniques that allowed me to create films and art that I didn’t think were possible at the time. This mixed with the support of my parents and teachers lead to me doing this professionally.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I mostly create 3D art. I’m proud of the fact that that I found something that I really enjoy doing. In the pursuit of creating art and making videos I would upload everything to the internet. It became a portfolio without me even thinking of it as such. In doing that, people would message me and would want to hire me for projects. The process wasn’t easy, mostly because I wanted to keep learning and have a deeper understanding for the thing that I wanted to learn. The main way for me to do that was to sit down and keep creating every day. In doing something every day you start to learn that the main way to get better is to consistently do it and consistently strive to challenge yourself. If there’s one thing I want people to understand about my story and how I got to where I am is that consistency will get you to were you want to be but mostly strive to consistently challenge yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the places that I would go to when I was in the area was Plaza Fiesta. There are some quick food places in there and it was a chill place to just hangout with a few friends. Another great place was also Ponce City Market. The atmosphere of the area was lively and there were good number of things to do whether it was grabbing something to eat or to just hangout.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my parents and Ben Oliver and Belle Caldwell . Their support lead me to were I am today.
