We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney George and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Whitney, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have 16 years of health and fitness experience, and I have always felt such calling to empower and impact women–I truly love people and facilitating relationships, and I am always the biggest fan of people I love. So through that combination, Thatz My Girl was created. I wanted my business to be a space and a place where you can feel empowered to live out your dreams, become your best self mind, body and soul through my interviews and conversation on the podcast, and through my offers and programs.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am in the business of keeping it real and helping women live out their full potential through health, fitness and mindset. I am huge believer in working on self and loving self above all. It hasn’t been easy, it has had twists and turns and moments of doubt and questioning what I am doing, but in all I try to be open, focus on my own healing and self love journey to help guide me on where to go and what to do. I think my authenticity and sense of humor/ability to connect on a real level with women sets me apart. I want people to know that I am still learning and growing as I go…I have good days and bad, high weeks and low….I am not making a ton of money yet and I am still finding my footing and voice daily as I evolve. Also, I am doing all this as a newly single mom of 2 young girls. When I launched, I was 4 months out of a marriage and my girls were 1 and 3. It is not always easy but I feel purpose and a deep calling, and I know things will workout and be ok as I stay in line with my truth and follow my heart.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
YES! By far I will shoutout To God, my creator, my Rock, my solitude for always giving me clarity, direction and peace. Also, the book Claim Your Power by Mastin Kipp steered my ship and has helped me breakdown barriers and past traumas to help me become my best and live my best life.
