We had the good fortune of connecting with Walter Hurst and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well my business will consist of me being a DJ (Disc Jockey). I love being a DJ because I love to make someone event or wedding special because you never know what people are going through in life. With me loving music the way I does I just think about music all day so it just makes it even more special being a DJ because the smile, people dancing, etc just makes me go hard with every event. With my business InDaZone Ent it took a lot of rebranding to get it where it’s at now because everything is changing so much so you have to be on top of everything. Now was it easy? Not at all but that is when I’m at my best because I love being challenged to do things. I mean it was some hard and bad times but in my mindset I feel like when you have the bad the good will eventually comes behind it especially if you are putting good into the universe. If I had to say something about my brand is IT WILL BE WORLDWIDE!!!!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend came to town its all according to the vibe he is trying to get because we can do the laid back or we can do the TURN UP!!! First off for food for lunch if he want some good Soul Food I would take him to Bully’s Soul Food Restaurant but if he want some good drinks and wings it would be Mbar or Names and Faces. Now if he wanted to chill I would take him to the cigar lounge because you able to smoke your cigar and just chill. Now last call if def a vibe because you can play pool, smoke your cigar, and drink with listening to music.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout God first and foremost. Second, I would like to shoutout to the people in my circle. We have a lot of ups and down but they been rocking with me since day 1. I want to shoutout my fans, my supporters, and my mentors in the DJ game. I thank you all so much for rocking with me and pushing me because this business is a lot on my mental but you all push me when I don’t feel like doing it anymore.
