Meet Veatrice Conley | Owner, Unveiled Bridal Studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Veatrice Conley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veatrice, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
As a bride planning my wedding back in 2018, I was blown away by my wedding gown shopping experience and “all eyes on me” attention I received during my appointment. I always wanted to be a boutique owner but after that experience I knew I wanted to bring a bridal studio to my area with all the same appointment luxuries.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been active in the Chattanooga fashion and beauty community since 2012. I made my fashion debut at 2012 Chattanooga Fashion Week (presented by Gage Models and Talent) with the creation of my women’s apparel line Regina James Fashion and have since hosted several fashion shows and launched 5 ready-to-wear private label collections over the past three years. I am so thrilled to incorporate my passion for style and sense of exquisite fashion into my studio and local bridal market.
As a new start up, finding funding was a struggle. Due to COVID, several banks immediately told me NO because I was a new business providing a niche service. I was finally fortunate to find a local credit union to invest in my idea.
One lesson I learned during the process of starting my business was to never be afraid to ask for help from mentors and/or other business professionals in your area. I was overwhelmed by the amount of people that jumped to help me after I swallowed my pride and asked for help!
I want the world to know that my ultimate business vision is to help brides of all shapes, sizes and cultures find their absolute dream dress and that Unveiled Bridal Studio is here to stay!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During the week it is hard to entertain guests with a busy schedule but the weekends in Chattanooga are most definitely for playtime!
Early Saturday morning hiking trip to Point Park at Lookout Mountain then followed up with brunch at STIR. Next we could head over to MLK Street to view local art at The Keeody Gallery then stop at Chatt Smoke House for some slow cooked bbq.
Later evening, pre-game cocktails at The Unknown Caller then dinner at Blue Orleans Restaurant with a nightcap at The Chattanooga Cigar Lounge.
Lastly, finish off the weekend with Brunch Sunday morning at The Proof Bar & Incubator with Chef Kenyatta Ashford of Neutral Ground.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out all black women- owned brands and businesses across the US. As a new business owner, I’m in awe of all the strong black women that have paved the way for new businesses like mine to come on the scene and thrive. I also have to give credit to all my family and friends that have been so supportive throughout my startup process. I am so grateful!
