We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyrell N Tyrese Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyrell N Tyrese, what makes you happy? Why?
We get happy once we hit the runway and see and hear everyone calling our names. We are turning in to some local celebrities.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Tyrell
I think what sets me apart is my desire to try new things. My mind is always racing and coming up with new ideas and I’m not afraid to go with them.
I got where I am by sticking with it and never being afraid to tackle new things. It hasn’t always been easy but I like the challenge.
Over the years I’ve learned so many things. I learned that I won’t always get the leading role in plays and movies. It upset me to know that I was best qualified but someone else got the part. I also learned that in the work that I do I must be a team member! As for my modeling career I had to be willing to travel over the state and even out of state.
I want the world to know that I plan to leave a mark. I will be known and admired for putting in work that people appreciate.
Tyrese
I think what sets me apart is my ability to come across as a great musician, model, actor and dancer. I have natural rhythm and it shows in everything that I do.
I got where I am today because of my determination and skills.Along the way I learned about responsibility and paying attention. Bring on the Autism Spectrum sometimes my mind wants to do other things but I try to stay on task.
I reached success by developing coping skills and mostly being on programs with my twin brother, Tyrell. I learned that I have certain things that trigger me but I’ve overcome them.
I want to let the world know that I can be a successful role model as I develope my brand.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Places: Indianapolis Zoo, Indiana Children’s Museum, Roller Cave, and Downtown Indy.
Restaurants: Country Kitchen, Chicken Scratch, His Place Eatery and anything on Mass Ave.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to our Mommy, La Tosha Walker who does more than she should. Not only for us but for everyone in our family. And, for friends and neighbors. We have different activities so Mommy is running all over town to support us in sports, community events, style shows, plays and movies! She’s there encouraging and supporting everything that we do. Best Mommy in the world,
Also these extraordinary people have help along the way.
Katina Washington, Carrie Cosby, Regina Warren, Nicole Rene’ and Latoya “ToeToe” Dawson Delisha Riddick and Shawn Kimbrough/ Classic Men we are thankful for all of their help on this journey
