We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Lord and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I wouldn’t be where I am without taking risks in both my career and personal life. There are three key risks I took in my life, which I am truly grateful for.

The first is meeting my wife, I knew right away she was the one and after a year I asked her to marry me and we have been together now for 14 years and have two handsome boys.

The second risk I took was from a good friend named Bob who guided me financially and allowed my family to have a great life.

Lastly, is Keith. I met Keith during the Katy Perry and we then went on the David Blaine Tour together. We had a day off and Keith asked me if I wanted to take a gig in Chicago for this artist name Caroline Jones…I said yes. 4 years later I am still with Caroline and am now the Creative Director for Zac Brown Band where Caroline is a member.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think for me the proudest moment of my career came this year when I was nominated at the Iheart Music Awards for Best Tour Photographer. To be recognized as one of the top creatives in my industry felt amazing.

Getting to where I am was a lot of work and late nights. I wouldn’t say there were challenges, just a lot of really talented creatives who were going after the same career I was. Still to this day I try to stay one step ahead with new edit styles, coloring and other techniques, which set me apart from other creatives. I also make sure I have content to the artist the same day.

The biggest lessons I have learned along the way is having a bit more balance in my life with my career and family. Not only has it improved my life at home with my kids and wife but it really gets the creative side of me wanting to create when i’ve had time to recharge.

I want the world to know i am very passionate about my craft. I truly believe this is what i’m meant to do and forever humbled that someone even wants to write an article about me. I hope everyone who looks at my work can feel what is going on in that exact moment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m all about the outdoors so I would be taking my friends up North to lake country. There are some beautiful landscapes, I would rent a boat and be out on the water. Food wise I would be doing a good ol BBQ.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife Shannon. I’m on the road a large part of the year and she not only works as a teacher but keeps two boys in line at home. She deserves the biggest shoutout.
