We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Hopewell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, what do you attribute your success to?
I personally think the most important factor behind having success with yourself and your brand is having a plan. When I say a “plan” I’m say something thoroughly thought out an not based off of temporary emotions. Having patience an steady productivity will take you a long way on your journey as well. When you set out to achieve something its imperative to not start something you can not finish, I’ve witnessed tons of great ideas an dope movements that will stand the test of time an actually be successful, but I’ve also seen a lot of those same passions not work out just off the discipline one may have for themselves.

They say being young & fresh is the best invitation to the industry but I also know who I was in my early 20’s, an I know now exactly why things weren’t popping for young Tyler, let alone not being where i want them to be now. Wishing I knew what i knew now back then, its clear that there is no ceiling to the success that someone can achieve if they had they’re vices an distractions in-tact and in control. Ultimately my work ethic has proven to be a major player in the things i have sought out to do an, the successful things I have done. Now days its a buyers market an if your not up on your analytics your already behind the curve, you have to know the demographic your reaching on a day to day basis. So its much more clear how the brand is moving with those metrics some of the apps we use offer. All in all, it boils down to what you as the creator will deliver an for me I know the results of mediocre work an also something so timeless you wont want to let it go. I’ve done both an I prefer the latter which not only ages better over time, its a nicer pay out. (Hahaha).

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I started my initial brand it was in the blog era an I made a site called “lynkem.com”, name couldn’t stick in my opinion. lol but I was like 19 maybe 20 in college an if you know 2012 you know I was right on time!! However as I grew my ideas grew, so I came up with Global Homie because I was an still am working on the non profit side of things to. I wanted to create a facility for folks that needed transition assistance… rather you were transitioning from homelessness to the work field or from any situation. I still dream of that, so I know I’m never done or where I want to be at just yet until i achieve that for the many communities in need. Like I said I’m not done until I’ve touched base in that sector of things but until then, I’m here to assist artists in their strategies and development, because the come up is my favorite thing to witness in this industry. Now days im focused on making clothes an designing things which are OTW on the site December 4th!! Tapping into everything close to music is nice but you got to make sure its designed to back your initial contributions as well, an that’s what really keeps me on “Go Mode”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well if you know me… “Its Lit” an your going to want to be riding with me regardless… hahahah, I wont give out my moves that easy though….

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For me I’m simple and I dedicate this to Matty P who was the fyest mentor a young nigga could ask for. LLMP!! Also my family Hope Shumpert & Kodie Shane for always being there for me always extending the olive tree an alley oop’n me some of my dopest accomplishments. Evan Holt & Shank knew the vision long before I did I just appreciate them guys immensely.
