We had the good fortune of connecting with Tunisia Bowen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tunisia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Initially I was terrified.But I have always felt compelled to start my own business and build a beauty brand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve spent most of my career as an accounting professional but I am also a full-time Actor as well.I know it’s Alot.HA! But you only get one life and I can’t live it with “What if I”? I like to live in the ” I DID IT” realm. Easy? Absolutely NOT and I honestly don’t think it’ll ever be EASY. But I know that I can do All things through Christ and Not out of my own might so that makes things much more peaceful. After 15yrs I was let go from a prominent hospital and I knew I had to do what God was already calling me to do; which was birth a business.This journey has taught me to not only be patient but to immensely TRUST GOD with Everything. Through Bold Faith Cosmetics, LLC I have been able to encourage thousands of women through makeup and for that I am grateful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The most Amazing places to chk out are definitely on the Southside & Westside I would definitely have them check out the newest development of Downtown College Park where most of the restaurants are Black-Owned and the Food is delicious and the service is superb!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family deserves every bit of credit because ….Whew!!! This entrepreneur journey ain’t for the faint of heart.Specifically, my grandfather who has been an entrepreneur my entire life.I remember him speaking one day full of wisdom per usual and He said” You don’t necessarily NEED a Job, You NEED income and you can produce that on your OWN. He has always spoken about the importance of Black Businesses and how important it is to both own and support.
