We had the good fortune of connecting with Trvpyyy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trvpyyy, how do you think about risk?
I think that taking risk is a very important part in your career, you don’t want to be to scared to get out of your comfort zone because that’s how you box yourself in. I’ve taken many risk early on in my career and at first thought of all the possible bad outcomes but once you change that mindset and worry less I guarantee it’ll be worth it. The fact that I took those risk early on definitely taught me a lot and helped me get to where I am today. Now I’m always willing to step out and try something that most people normally wouldn’t plus it makes everything more interesting and not so routine.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m definitely fascinated with how I’ve developed my own sound within producing in such a short amount of time. I try to push as much as I can to not sound like anybody else so that I stand out from the crowd, and I put a lot of effort in to perfecting that. I’m excited about the unreleased songs I have and cant wait for my supporters to hear because trust me its going to be crazy when this stuff drops. I study a lot about music and the business side of things and worked on branding myself and that alone has helped me with my success so far. I would say the studying part wasn’t hard but its so much information to retain, believe it or not I’m still learning new things till this day but I know in the long run its going to help me out so I make sure I take time out to do that as much as I can. Branding was a little challenging because its so much competition in the music industry so you really have to find a way to set yourself apart from others and get noticed. Be genuine and show off your personality don’t be boring make people want to know more about you, that’s some of the main things I did that I think helped me with that. The biggest lesson I learned is to not put more energy in to others more then you do yourself, unless that same energy is being reciprocated back to you, ive helped out plenty of people who still have yet to do the same but its life you cant dwell on it just learn from it and keep moving forward.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We definitely getting some food off rip lol I love to eat so whenever I have somebody come visit me that’s the first thing we do. I go to this one spot called Bad Daddys Burger Bar shoutout to them their food is 10 out of 10, and everybody I’ve taken there likes the food. I also got this Mexican spot I thinks its called la parrilla they got real good food and drinks there to nice little vibe. I’m an introvert though so wherever I go most of the time wont have a big crowd I liked chill laid back vibes only time I don’t mind crowds is in the studio and even then I still don’t be wanting a bunch of people in my session. I think concerts would be another exception but who knows when that’ll be back with all that’s going on right now. Also I’m into clothes and shoes heavy so we would probably swing by some stores like Wish ATL for example, that’s one of my favorite spots to shop in the city. Other then that though I would just ride them around the city and if they see something interesting we would stop by and see what its about.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family 100 percent gets a lot of the credit for my career going how it is, they kept me motivated through all the times where I was down and always encouraged me to pursue producing from the start. They never once told me it was a bad idea or that it could go wrong they just supported me and trusted the process. Also I look up to metro and southside I’ve been fans of their work way before I was even producing and they definitely have something to do with me producing in the first place. Lastly I cant forget my supporters they keep me going much love to them!
