We had the good fortune of connecting with Tremayne “Trey” Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tremayne “Trey”, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Being alive makes me happy. That’s why I smile, laugh, crack jokes everyday. The next day is never promised so we should enjoy every second while we can, because some people are not able to enjoy this time on earth anymore. We shouldn’t look at, ‘O, this guy got in front of me in the line at Starbucks.’ It’s only coffee, not the end of the world. Be happy because we’re alive to see another day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Upon relocating to Atlanta, I decided to pursue a career in telecommunications. I started with an office job. After less than six months, I was offered a manager’s position. Soon after I realized I was missing something, decided to leave my manager position to work with my hands and accomplish my overall goal to be a cable technician.

I worked in my field for north of 7 years. During the pandemic, Xfinity was forced to release me. So that was when I decided to follow in my dad’s footsteps and go into business for myself.

I always loved working with my hands to see a cabinet, paint on walls or a porch being finished that I HAVE completed with my own two hands.
Since working with my dad at the age of about 10, he instilled in me to work smart and learn quickly. In the later years, he also showed me how to own, manage and maintain a business.

I carried those teachings into life and all jobs. So upon starting my business, I learned my business and mastered it quickly. Everything from making the apparel, to managing sales and profits to excel and succeed in this highly competitive industry.

From my experience in the industry, challenges are going to occur, but you must prepare from the start to be able to survive. A person shouldn’t over extend themselves or their business from the beginning. Sometimes you’ll want to please everyone, but most of the time you have to do what will keep you in business.

I’ve also learned that your brand must have a voice that everyone can relate to in life. That’s the main reason why Three Bars stand for Equality, Positivity and Generational Wealth.

With the brand Three Bars the feel is amazing! Each shirt has great feel to the touch. Every black bar on a shirt has the velvet feel to it. On the back of certain shirts there’s a message of positivity.
Three Bars a brand with voice.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s SO much to do in ATL so I’ll take my best friend to many places.

MONDAY – Firstly we’ll get breakfast at Gutbusters on Flat Shoals Parkway, then have to go to Six Flags to ride The Georgia Scorcher and The Pandemonium. There’s so many places to play poker in Atlanta so we’re going to all the free-rolls every night. First off is Gino’s pizza to play with Atlanta Poker Club and good NY pizza.

TUESDAY – We’ll run up Stone Mountain, not the park side, but run to get some exercise. When it opens go check out Black Wall Street. Go eat at Tastebuddzatl! DELICIOUS!! Then go to Starlight Drive-in with our wives. Again poker!

WEDNESDAY – Head to Varsity to see ‘what we’ll be havin’. Then Centennial Park, Coco Cola Factory, Skyview and College Football Hall of Fame. Eat at Sundail (even though it’s not rotating anymore). Poker at J.R. Crickets on Main St. with Interstate Poker.

THURSDAY – Breakfast at Barney’s to start. Ride bikes down Atlanta Beltline, check out Shake Shack and Bell Street Burritos. Krog Street and Just Add Honey. Relaxation at Piedmont Park with the dogs. Of course poker!

FRIDAY – Head uptown check out Lennox Mall and Phipps Plaza. Ride Marta to Tyler Perry Studios. Head to Slutty Vegan to get a One-Night Stand. Head to The Battery for a Atlanta Braves game. Then Tony’s Sports Bar to play poker.

SATURDAY – Georgia Aquarium and of course Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and pay homage…. Down Edgewood maybe get a tattoo at City Of Ink. Shop and eat at Ponce City Market. Of course poker! Poker at Confettis.

SUNDAY – Go to church at Berean Christian Church on Young Rd. Eat at Nancy’s Pizzeria and next door Shaq’s Krispy Kreme (they’ll be back). Take Marta to Mercedes Benz Stadium for an Atlanta Falcons or Atlanta United game.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The number one person that deserves credit is my wife Veda whose always let me be a better me. So the love definitely goes to her.

Number two and three are my best friends ‘Buck’ and ‘Hova’ whom without them there wouldn’t be a Three Bars brand. Us three playing dominoes once a week is where the hatching of creating a business came about.
