Meet Tremaine Anderson | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tremaine Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tremaine, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Well it all started when I was in middle school I always enjoyed editing pictures on different online websites. I had gotten so good that friends would ask me to do theirs for social media platforms like MySpace. Then once I got hold of my first camera phone which was a Android in high school that I though had the best camera in the world , I began taking random shots on the phone of different things like trees, animals, or food. And so really after that I just wanted to get a real professional camera and start taking pictures. It wasn’t till my senior year in high school that I began to do research and see that I could make a profit from doing so. Which was kind of a Convenient option for me because when I was 3 I was diagnosed with cancer and had to go through chemotherapy treatments which caused me to lose some of my hearing. So I always wanted to find something that would allow me to use my stronger senses like my eye sight to be able to make a career out of. Moving forward to after high school I decided to go to the art institute of Indianapolis where I completed 2 years of the digital photography program I had learned so much from there then realized this was something I could teach to myself which I did proceed to do and so I started my business in 2014.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to think of my art/photography as very versatile. I don’t want to stick to one type of style of photography I want to be able to reach everyone in someway .
So I think what’s different in my work is that I use different styles of shooting and lighting in my work.
Where I am today professionally is not where I want to be quite yet . But I am proud of where I am now since when I started it wasn’t easy at all I wanted to quit many time but I just love it so much I have to keep going ! I overcame different obstacle over the years a lot by praying and just taking time to myself when needed to try and not let things stress me out. Also just think about the words my granny told me before she passed away.
The biggest lesson I learned and still learning that is you always can’t trust someone to do something if you want it done a certain way. You just have to do it yourself!
I want the world to know that I am a young black Entrepreneur that is going to make it and not give up on my brand. My brand is a representation of with God nothing is impossible. So be on the Look out for the success of Maine Focus Photography !

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this to my late granny Patrica Anderson who said some encouraging words to me before she passed that makes me want to succeed every day. Also my Mother Tracey Anderson who is my number 1 supporter! And also My Lord and Savior Jesus !
