Meet Tragic Thespians | Husband and wife podcast duo Caterina Imbro and Ryan Peters. A podcast by creatives for creatives.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tragic Thespians and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tragic Thespians, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In today’s competitive industry, our original goal was to build a platform to create opportunities for ourselves and our friends. We also wanted to cultivate connections, all while providing entertainment to our audience by having both established and independent personalities from all corners within the entertainment industry.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We dabble in many various types of art, but the most predominant is podcasting and acting. We stand out from the crowd because we have worked hard to create opportunities for ourselves while also uplifting others along the way. A win for us is a win for all artists in our community. We. are very excited for the future and expanding our budding production company to new heights. Perseverance is how we got to where we are today, despite the bumps and scrapes we’ve encountered a long the way. After all, it’s the journey, not the destination. After COVID, we nearly quit and left the Tragic Thespians chapter of our story behind. As things grew tougher and further away, we still found ourselves being brought back to it and we new that this is something we weren’t finished with. Not by a long shot. What we want people to know is how passionate we are about bringing the magic of entertainment to everyone in every form available to us, as well as how important a part it plays in society.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are lucky enough in Sydney to have free access to a number of museums, including the Australian Museum of Art, Powerhouse Museum and the Art Gallery of NSW to name a few. There are a litany of bars with live music (like the Squires Landing in the rocks), local theatre (such as Kxt on Broadway) as well as main stage musicals at the Capitol or Lyric Theatre. By far our favourite thing to do is watch a movie at an indie cinema, like the Dendy, and eat vegan in Newtown, specifically the laksa at Golden Lotus is a must have.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’d like to dedicate a big shoutout to Cooper Silk at RadioHub. He was a mentor to us when we first entered the podcast industry wide eyed and clueless. It was thanks to his and his teams dedication and ability that we learnt how to keep our footing steady and progress confidently. Also, a big thanks to Joanne O’Connor, our sound designer, our friends at Theatre Thoughts Ben and James Martin our designers/composers and most importantly our listeners without whom we wouldn’t be able to do what we love.
