We had the good fortune of connecting with TR3VON and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TR3VON, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal is after I am gone being able to leave a legacy behind that’ll live on generations to come. I’d like to be a global entertainer where the world will know my name.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I strive to capture the essence of the soul in my artistry by showcasing the epitome of emotion. I am constantly evolving my ability to story tell real life situations and turn them into gut wrenching smooth melodies. In my music, I tell a story of trials, tribulations, and triumphs with my styling on mainstream Pop blended with a flare of R&B Soul. I envision my music will act as a conduit for inclusiveness and community in the entertainment industry. It hasn’t been easy being on this journey I’ve dealt with many challenges and was at my lowest at one point ready to give it all up. At one point the journey has left me broken, homeless, scared, and hopeless. A few years ago I was with a entertainment company that stole and misused their artist. That experience caused me to go into a deep depression and I questioned myself more than ever, I didn’t feel worthy anymore. I had to take a break so I could get my mind right and figure out what was missing. Currently, I was able to find my joy again. I started writing new music and I am now recording new material. I am re-branding myself working with new producers and finding a new sound with a fresh new outlook on my career. I am excited again when I sing, write, and perform. What I want the world to know is that when I look at my fingerprints I realize that I am the only person in the world with these set of fingerprints and that makes me uniquely me. No one can be me except me, so it’s time the world gets to know the best version of me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d take them to the Civil Rights Museum
Pappadeaux
Georgia Aquarium
Botanical Garden
Atlanta Zoo
GoldRoom
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In my life I’ve had a list of people that helped nurture the gift within me. A few people come to mind that poured into me. When I was 10 years old I joined the Metropolitan Boy’s Choir in Minneapolis, MN. After teachers, social workers, and secretary at my school pushed for my mother to look into this opportunity she finally agreed for me to audition. I remember going to the audition when I met Bea Hasselman aka Mrs H. After being accepted into the choir Mrs H really took me under her wing. She took me to my first concert seeing Dionne Warwick who then spent an hour backstage with me after her concert. Mrs H was instrumental in helping me raise money for a fundraiser that allowed me to go on tour with the choir. Growing up in a single parent home we didn’t have much including reliable transportation, Mrs H would come pick me up and drop me off every rehearsal and every event. Mrs H was hard on me and pushed me to be better vocally, performing, and getting comfortable on stage. Mrs H is still leading the Metropolitan Boys Choir to this day and I a, grateful to have experienced her skill and knowledge at a young age. The next person I’d like to acknowledge would be Grammy award winning Jamecia Bennett who is the daughter of the legendary powerhouse Ann Nesby and the current lead vocalist of the renowned Sounds Of Blackness. Jamecia who I refer to as a “musical mom” is very influential especially on a business side. She has dropped gems in my basket over the years that I have used and still use to this day. Jamecia embodies raw emotion, grace, powerful performance, business savy and a true songbird. Jamecia has schooled me on certain things to look out for within the business and keeping it real as an artist. Jamecia has spent countless personal time with me guiding me through whenever I needed her. I’ve worked alongside her and she pushes for my very best and I love her for that. I will always have love and an appreciation for Jamecia Bennett.
