We had the good fortune of connecting with Toya Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Toya, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was here’s my 1,2,3 step plan. They said if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans. And that is so true! As aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners we have all these big goals and dreams for ourselves and that’s GREAT! However, as much as you hope, wish and pray for YOUR goals and dreams also pray for God to walk you down the path that he has for you. Be prepared because it might look a little different.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started branding myself back in 2017 before I knew it was branding. I started with a logo on a to shirt and sold thousands. After retiring myself from that I decided to push fitness. Something that I’ve always been into all my life. My mother having a serious health condition (kidney failure) has always motivated me to prioritize my health. It’s not easy and anyone in the fitness world can tell you there’s ups and downs, stops, weight gains weight losses etc. Also facing my own medical challenges during birth and pregnacy molded me to what I stand for today. I can’t not express how important it is to take care of yourself before, during and after birth. My social media is filled with everything Family, Beauty and Fitness. I also work with brands to market their products via social media. Being my true authentic self has set me aside and allowed me to stay on the path that God has for me. Valuing integrity has boosted me professionally because I treat people how I want to be treated. When you do right by God and people things will flow effortlessly in your life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I live in a big city so showing someone a good time will be fairly easy! There’s so many dope spots in Atlanta not to mention the nice scenery. What a fun week would look like for me and someone visiting is taking a fitness class, dance yoga etc. since the pandemic there are so many new restaurants what I actually want to try myself. In the city and on the outskirts. I would def pull up TikTok for those recommendations lol. I’m very good at photography and creating content so we would def hit up some spots to get some cool photos and videos We’d hit up a festival or a concert because it’s that season! My ultimate goal is to show my guest a great overall time through various different activities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
