We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Harbinger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Todd, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the most important factor behind our success is really listening to our fans and readers. We’ve been at this a long time, since 2006. Whether at comic conventions, book signings, or social media interaction, the fans are not shy about what they like. Mostly, they share how they like the wide range of characters, spread across multiple times in history, with some of the most unique superpowers. They also like how our stories reflect current challenges in society, while reflecting diverse and more inclusive perspectives.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our art is for those who love science fiction, superhero stories, fantastic tales and entertainment like this. Our audience really loves our characters, They all closely resemble 3D-styled video game characters. Another thing that sets us apart is that our stories cover a wide range of time, from the current, to the prehistoric to the 20th century and more. I like to make sure that our storylines are bold, always leaving the reader with something to think about and act on.. I want the world also know that the biggest feedback we get from readers is that they get inspired to read further, on their own. We strive to make sure every story is unique and groundbreaking..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Depending on the season, the place we’d have to go is the ATL Comic Con to catch all of the latest, upcoming sci-fi and comic book movies and books. I think the places we’d have to eat would include The Varsity, an Atlanta landmark. We’d also have visit the King Center and catch a concert with any of the most iconic recording artists that tour or reside in Atlanta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d have to say that my inspiration really came from two sources. First, my son and daughter and my commitment to create characters and stories they could enjoy and relate to. Secondly, I wanted to thank several of the small independent newspapers and magazines from Pennsylvania. They gave me my first shot in 2006, publishing my work to a large audience. I’ll always be grateful for that.
