We had the good fortune of connecting with Tisha Rosamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tisha, what do you want people to remember about you?
For the first part of my career I was interested in personal growth, monetary reward and pleasing senior management. And I was good at it. I gathered accolades and was an example of success. But something was missing and I was always seeking the next rush from a new achievement. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, at the height of my success I found myself working for someone I didn’t connect with and suddenly my career was no longer the interesting place it once was. The sense of satisfaction was missing. I had to ask why that was. What was missing? Doing some digging into myself I realized that it wasn’t achievements that drove me, it was connections. I needed something that was more about people.

Don’t get me wrong – this wasn’t like a light bulb going off and suddenly I knew I had a different calling. It was just the first time I started to think maybe there were other less traditional ways I could grow myself professionally. Giving back and being part of my community was always important so it started to seem obvious that maybe there was a way to take my professional drive and channel it in a different direction. I was ready for change.

It sounds crazy, but one day I walked into a bakery for a snack and walked out with a purpose. I found what I wanted to do. It wasn’t just about cake, although who doesn’t love cake, it was about the feeling I could create. For myself AND others. Owning a small business would allow me to connect to people, neighbors and teammates, in an environment of my own making. I could change my trajectory from self to community. Before, I had always had a personal life and a professional life and now I found a way to connect the two. And the combination of both worlds has proven to be the greatest achievement I could have imagined.

I want to be remembered for bringing joy. Joy is laughter. It’s surprise and delight. Its happiness. That’s what’s important to me. If you can bring joy to the world you are successful. That’s my mission. I hope when people think of me they smile and feel joyful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely set up a progressive restaurant crawl at my friends’ restaurants throughout Sandy Springs. Breakfast would have to be at Just Love Coffee Cafe, followed with a famous cheeseburger at Southern Bistro for a lunch. And no matter how full we are, no food crawl would be complete without dinner at Bishoku for the best sushi. We would take a walk around City Springs, and because this is my best time ever wish, Hamilton would playing at the Byers theater!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My very supportive and loving wife, Jeanne, has always been right there with me along my journey. My sister, my business partner, and my lifelong friend, Shannon. And of course my friends who’ve been there from the beginning and those I’ve met along the way.
