We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Morales and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first started my business I don’t think I realized what I was doing. I knew I wanted to create safe spaces for people to expand their minds while expanding their hearts, but I had know idea I could start a business around that desire. Thankfully, my now husband, was educating me on business, sharing resources with me, and supporting my passions. Having his support and stepping out in faith, helped me have the courage to start a business around my passions.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a therapist and a speaker, I am in the business of helping young adults embrace the power that is within them, so they can flourish on this journey of personal growth and relational health. What I love most about my work is that it’s rooted in God’s grace and truth and supported by clinical research. The journey I took to become a business owner was not an easy one, personally or professionally. What I believe helped me through challenges like self-doubt, little to no business acumen, and a changing economy, was prayer, persistence, patience, and partnerships. What I’ve learned along the way is that even as a solopreneur, there’s no shame in asking for help. I believe God made us for genuine connection with others, which is often found in our moments of deepest needs. When we share those needs with others, we gain access to the resources that God already prepared for us. As I continue to learn and grow as an individual, wife, sister, friend, leader, and business owner, I’ve witnessed the blessing of being refined through my relationships in every role that I serve. Through sharing my story and by creating safe spaces for others to do the same, my desire would be for people to know that their brokenness doesn’t disqualify them from their purpose in life. It actually may be the very thing God will use to reveal your calling and connect you to others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oooh I love this question! Let’s eat first. Sushi Nami in Alpharetta is my favorite spot right now. Another spot I love is Okinawa Steak & Sushi on the East West Connector. We would definitely go to The Battery Atlanta to hang out and eat. If we’re trying to have all the fun, we’ll have to go to El Super Pan Latino Kitchen & Bar at The Battery Atlanta to dance on a Friday night, visit Treetop Quest in Dunwoody for ziplining and an obstacle course, and of course Shoot The Hooch because it’s such a Georgian thing to do. If we want to get our mind and bodies right with some yoga or pilates, we would have to visit my friends at atl kula wellness studio in Atlantic Station. Another thing I recently discovered is this place called INDIEHOUSE Modern Fragrance Bar where we can make our own fragrance. Why not?! Of course we’ll be hungry again so we’ll need to eat at Eataliano at The Battery, get vegan burgers at Slutty Vegan, or have a little latin-asian fusion at Taqueria Tsunami. It would be such a good time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! First and foremost, I will say that God has been good to me personally and professionally. A lot of what drives my passions for helping others believe in themselves and grow through relationships is based on my faith journey. Without God, none of this would even matter. Secondly, my husband is the best encourager and supporter I didn’t know I needed. The moments where I struggle with doubt, he reminds me of the gifts God has given me to share with others and encourages me to continue on. He has been my true champion throughout this entire journey that I am forever grateful for. I also have to shoutout the partnerships I have had along the way with ATL Kula, The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE), and so many other business owners that have helped me spread the message of relational health and wellness. Last, but not least, I have such amazing friends and family who support my business ventures in so many ways. Their belief in my leadership and the work I am doing in the community is a gift.
