We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tina, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is not cutting corners and our customer service. When my customers taste our delicious homemade goods, it instantly takes them bake to their grandmothers kitchen. Just smelling the bakery makes them remember being able to like the beaters of a cake that is about to go in the oven. Customers want to know that they are getting the best every time they order custom treats from us or come in to grab something “SWEET” for dinner.
You never know what kind of day someone may be having. We pride ourselves on having the best Customer Service; So when they enter into our bakery, they are always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. Just like our treats, our warm personalities will have you coming back for more.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We love making homemade treats and goodies, but we adore an opportunity to do custom treats for any event. We get a chance to showcase our talents and let guest have the chance to sample delicious treats. Whenever any guest taste our treats, they are always amazed at how moist and delicious they are. Most people are surprised when they actually get a cake that is beautiful and delicious. Along with delicious treats. I love creating custom pieces that my clients and their guests will remember. We believe in our motto, “Baking You Happy.” I believe that my unique flavors and delicious treats will always set me apart. I’m most proud of our customer service. If you look up Customer Service in the dictionary, Jewel’s Treats & More will be there showing her sweet face.
I’m very happy that I was blessed to get a brick and mortar. This way I am able to reach a larger audience and more companies and people are able to order and taste our gourmet goods. Was it an easy task? Definitely no. I’ve cried, prayed, rejoiced and cried some more. But the one thing that I never do is give up. Getting to this place in my business was not easy. There is always something that has to be done in the baking business; the work never ends. I overcome the challenges by working smarter and not harder. I have learned how to prepare early and make a to-d0-list for things that I have to do during the week.
There are several lessons that I have learned along the way, but the one that has been the most useful, is to take your time. Don’t rush the process. Sometimes when things are rushed, they don’t turn out as well as it probably could if a little more time was spent on it.
I want the world to know that Jewel’s Treats & More is most definitely here to stay. Our treats will are among the best tasting, and we are always ready to prove just that.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite places to visit in Atlanta and the surrounding areas would be exactly where I would take a friend or loved one when they were able to visit.
I would first take the to either my house or Gocha’s Breakfast Bar for a fantastic breakfast and drinks. There aren’t too many people that can top what I can do in the kitchen.
For lunch, I would head to my side of town and let them get grub from Gabe’s Downtown. They have a salmon burger and Friend Green Tomatoes that out of this world.
For dinner, let’s head over to Negril’s Village. Their Oxtail Pasta is my favorite.
Of course after a day of fine dining, it’s time for something sweet. so let’s head over to the best bakery in town, Jewel’s Treats & More. They have Hot Pound Cake, cupcakes, cheesecakes, etc. There will something there that will satisfy any sweet tooth and have you coming back for more.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family deserves a huge Shoutout. From the very beginning, my family has been my rock and my support system. My husband, children, and close family have been there from the very beginning. When I first started, it was a difficult task. I had to establish myself in the industry and let people know that it would be worth their while to book my company for their special events. My family and friends were constantly referring me to people to get the word out. They are so confident that my cakes and treats are the best and well-worth the investment.
