Meet Timothy Baker: Portrait Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Timothy Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Timothy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Hard work, Dedication and having a passion for what you do is the 1st thing that comes to mind when I think of the success that I have had thus far. I literally found this passion as a kid and I put it down to focus on life and what I thought would be best for my family. I was going to school and working but I felt so unhappy then I picked up a camera that I have had since 2014 and the passion came back all at once. But success doesn’t come from passion alone I had to put in the work and fully dedicate myself to where I saw myself being and then I had to learn what it took to get to the level that I want to be at and I haven’t even scratched the surface of what I can do with a camera.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My name is Tim Baker and I am the owner and operator of T.A. Baker Photography LLC. I am a photographer here in the Metro Atlanta area and I truly have a passion for what I do. My Company was established in July 2019 I am specifically based in Gwinnett County and I am happy to be here to Interview with you and tell my story about how I am becoming one of the go to photographer in the area and becoming your photographer of choice. I provide a variety of services from family photo shoots, sporting events, birthday parties, property photography and videography and any other services that you may need. I am an Army veteran who pays close attention to detail and will make sure that you are satisfied with your pictures. By no means has my journey been easy I have had to start from the bottom and build my brand one day at a time. My first shoot was a total disaster I thought I knew what I was doing but I quickly found out I was lost and since then I told myself I would never feel this way again. I then dedicated myself to learning everything I could about my camera and what it took to learn how to run a successful business. I have taken classes, watched videos and just found random things to shoot in my house just to get in practice in different environments and lighting situations. There is some much more than just picking up a camera and pressing a button.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly Atlanta is a place where there is always something to do. Whether it be an outdoor concert, doing an historical tour of the city Some of the places I would go to eat would be Triton yards the food trucks there are absolutely amazing. Bourbon St. café is a must when I am there. I have found many locations around the city where you get an amazing view of the skyline of Atlanta and it is truly an amazing site. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family is a huge support system I would not be who I am today without them. Special thanks to Amy Baker, Rosalyn Robinson and Glenda Jones for being available when I needed to vent and being my personal models.
