We had the good fortune of connecting with TIFFANY MILLS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TIFFANY, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance has definitely evolved over time. Early in my career I was grinding, so I feel like I missed a lot of important family moments – family reunions, birthdays, etc. I remember getting to a point and deciding that I did not want to be defined solely by the work. I became just as intentional about my life outside of work, as I was about my career. When that light bulb went off, it felt like the whole world opened up to me. I am blessed to live a well balanced life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am television showrunner, which is another way of saying ‘Executive Producer’. Most of my work is in the unscripted genre, so that includes documentaries, talk shows, reality shows, game shows, and anything dealing with real people and real stories. I love it. I’ve always had a passion for storytelling and the entertainment business. From a very young age I made it my business to learn the industry. Over the years I’ve worked in music, film, and television and it has not been an easy path. But I have learned to trust myself and push past the fear. Fear can be debilitating. But my determination is relentless and my faith is unwavering, so I keep going. I keep creating outrageous dreams and ideas for myself, and then I live it!

As far as Mills Avenue Media, we will continue to highlight fascinating, relatable stories that connect people across the globe while creating space for a new generation of storytellers,

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Atlanta, there is so much to do. When my friends come to town we are definitely going to a live music performance of some sort. That is a must! Whether its a huge festival like One Music Fest or something more intimate like City Winery, a live performance is definitely on the itinerary. I also love to go outside and play – from Westside Park to the Beltline, we’re literally outside! I’m also a member of the High Museum and ZuCot Gallery is my favorite. And then of course we have to eat…and then eat again…and again! Atlanta is a foody town. Let’s go to a pop up food truck park, or brunch at Oreatha’s at the Point, or dinner at MCK. Any place we choose, we’re gonna eat good!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my parents! No one has supported me like my Mom & Dad. I have been on this journey since middle school and they have been along for the ride. I was always involved in some sort of extra curricular activity, whether it was dance or acting classes, or low budget films, they were always right there to support me. All of those activities lead to the career that I have now. I am so grateful for Ray & Deb!
