We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Absolutely! I have several. It was hard to narrow it down to one, but then I remembered one in particular that encompasses who I am. I am a huge Maya Angelou fan. I love her poetry. She has so many quotes that I also love. It’s no surprise my favorite quote is from her. “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style.” This quote speaks volumes to who I am both personally and professionally. In all I do I wish to give 200% of myself. I seek to be prosperous and successful as a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I am very passionate about many things. One in particular is being of service to others—I believe it is why we are put here on this earth. Helping those in need and those less fortunate is a rewarding feeling. I’m very blessed and if I can bless someone else I will. I’ve learned over time that you have to laugh more. Don’t take life too seriously. Laughter is good for the soul. Life is beautiful when we laugh more. The last part of the quote, “and some style” is definitely one area I find to be so true. I consider myself as a person who has a unique since of style. A mixture of classic and contemporary. My style shines through all I do. It’s in my demeanor. It’s how I treat others. It’s how I live my life.

What should our readers know about your business?
My boutique is a celebration of pearls. I’ve absolutely adored pearls from a very young age. I remember when I received my first real strand of pearls (which I still have). I instantly fell in love. They were so beautiful. I wore them all the time. So much so I’ve had them restrung a few times over the years. On my site I reference that Pearls are a symbol of great beauty and purity—both timeless and contemporary. This naturally stunning gem will forever be a jewelry box classic. We have found ways to love pearls beyond the traditional strand. My boutique offers an array of pearl inspired gifts for any occasion. Whether it be pearl sunglasses, a pearl purse, or pearl jewelry, we offer pearl gifts in quite a few categories. I want the world to know that Polished Pearl Boutique offers our love and adoration of pearls through our thoughtful selection of products and careful attention to details. We’ve all heard that pearls go with everything and we strongly believe so. Pearls are timeless, sophisticated and whether dressed up or dressed down they make a personal style statement all their own. We love that our style is synonymous with grace and beauty. Classy, elegant and well…Polished!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely start with dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta — Agave which serves an amazing eclectic Southwestern cuisine. The next morning, we would have brunch at Breakfast at Barney’s. Then we would burn off some of those calories with a little retail therapy. Later we would walk the Atlanta Beltline; burn more calories and catch up. At some point we would visit the High Museum of Art as well as the Fernbank Museum. We would stop by one of my new favorite spots Flavor Rich Restaurant. It will be imperative that we squeeze in some time for a little pampering, some girl time. We will go to my hair salon The Color Den Hair Studio. Followed by a manicure and pedicure at Magnolia Nails and Salon and if we have time a relaxing massage.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh my goodness! Yes! I definitely owe a tremendous amount of recognition to my wonderful husband Marc Holmes Sr. who has supported my dreams for so many years. He has been there as my business has evolved from a hobby, to a gift basket business and finally shaped itself into an online retail boutique. He’s definitely my biggest fan and one of my biggest supporters. Iwould be remiss if I did not mention my amazing friends who has supported my dream for the years it took me to get the wheels in motion. I appreciate each and every one of them so much. Last, but certainly not least I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother, Virginia Pentard, who shaped me into the woman I am today. She taught me how to be independent. How to be a go getter and trendsetter. She showed me that there isn’t anything I can’t do if I don’t try and put in the work to accomplish it. She taught me that things happen in God’s timing. I’ve learned so much from my mother. I’m still learning. I can never repay her for what she has done for me and continue to do for me. I always want to make her proud.
