We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Cummings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always loved to cook. I love the reaction and feedback I receive when people eat one of my dishes. For the last few years I have wanted to start my own business but was afraid but also did not know where to start. I lost my job in November 2020 due to Covid 19 and budget cuts and that was the boost I needed to start Tasty Eatz Catering. I have always been told by friends and family that I needed to utilize my cooking skills. 2020 definitely proved that you can do anything you set your mind to.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am walking in my purpose and doing what I love which is cooking. Cooking excites me. No I’m not a chef nor have I been to culinary school but I do know my way around the kitchen. It makes my heart smile and makes me feel amazing when I see people enjoying a dish. I love flavorful foods so I cook with a lot of Cajun seasonings and I rarely use salt. I provide catering services for all types of events, personal chef services, meal prep, and personal plates. I’m excited to see where Tasty Eatz will be in the next five years and to see what great opportunities I will be presented with. Starting a business is never easy, it is VERY scary but exciting and rewarding at the same time. I started cooking at a very young age, I was raised by a single mother and I’m an only child so I spent a lot of time alone. When I would come home from school I would cook pancakes, French Toast, eggs, hamburgers, fries it’s a good thing I did not burndown the house. If I wanted I was going to figure out how to cook it if that was by watching my mom or writing down recipes out of books. By the time I got to college I was making full blown Sunday dinners, turkey wings, mac n cheese, collard greens, cornbread. All my friends would come to my apartment because I was always cooking. Customer service is also key, I make sure that all my clients are satisfied and if not do all I can to rectify the problem.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love a good brunch and bar. I really do not do the club scene anymore. So I would take my friend to Roc South Cuisine for brunch. Their food is amazing. Then we would head to Spice House Atlanta, the DJ and drinks are a real vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a great support system from my mom, family and friends. My mom Vanessa Cook-Fanner is my biggest supporter who is always rooting for my success. I want to thank my first customer and friend Kasha Smith who is always promoting my cooking on her platform and is always willing to help with my events. I also want to shout out two other awesome wonderful friends David Brinagh and Shenika Avery who is always there with advice, helping with my events, or just an ear when I need to vent.
