Meet Tiffany Andrews-Heck | Hair Stylist & Healthy Hair Enthusiast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Andrews-Heck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Initially, I was just a broke, 20 year old college student trying to save myself and my friends some money by doing our hair. That small hustle one day turned into something larger than I expected it to be. I quit my job of 5 years to pursue hair full time after a long back and forth battle of choosing my self-found craft over what I thought to be the “comfort and security” of my job. The moment I walked out of my job’s doors, I knew I had just created an amazing opportunity for myself. I knew this was a field that I wanted to both master and continue to grow in. Was I scared? Absolutely. But, looking back on my journey today, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I take extreme pride in natural hair care. In a world full of wigs, sew ins and braids, I still put the majority of my focus on natural hair care products and procedures. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a good weave. But, I also feel like it’s still important that we stay knowledgeable on how to care for what’s underneath. It took me some genuine soul searching to get to this point. In the beginning of my career, I solely focused on weaves. I was well known for natural sew in installations and hand crafted wigs. I would run into clients with natural hair damage and we would simply cover it up rather than addressing it. And personally, I was doing the same for myself. I knew that at some point, I couldn’t keep encouraging both myself and my clients to choose covering up their natural beauty over enhancing it. This mindset shift birthed my entire rebrand from “Slayed by Tiff” to “The Healthy Hair Enthusiast”. I am now a stylist who focuses on both the health of natural hair and also achieving the physical results that my clients desire.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in the city are typically the low key ones, but I also enjoy people, so I appreciate a decent crowd. I absolutely love going to coffee shops and places that I can sit down with my friends and have a good conversation or discussing future business plans or life goals and ideas. Some of the recent ones I’ve been to have been Rev Coffee in Smyrna and Blue Mountain Coffee Roasters in Suwannee. Now, for food and drinks, I loooove a chance to get dressed up with my girls, but I also love options on different eats. Food Halls have been a current fave of mine because you have tons of independent, small businesses making authentic cuisines, but also the open atmosphere with a nice aesthetic and a vibe to match. Politan Row at Colony Square and Chattahoochee Food Works have been my most recent and favorite visits. Third of all, I love a good experience that give the opportunity to be active and create memories. I recently went to Top Golf for the first time (I know I’m late, lol) and I had a blast. I also enjoy The Painted Duck and Putt Shack.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would absolutely like to shout out my cousin, Shelly, for encouraging me to turn my passion into a profession by going to cosmetology school. I would also like to thank my incredibly supportive wife for putting me through school and giving me the opportunity to successfully complete my cosmetology studies as a full time student, without the stress of finances. I love you, Brittany Heck.
