We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffani Real and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffani, why did you pursue a creative career?
Growing up I was encouraged to use my imagination. I had paper dolls, connect the dots, dress up, and my third grade teacher would read to the class.

My grandmother also taught my brother and I to take care of the elders because they took care of us, so I like to bring smiles to the people I encounter.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I became a published author in 2010 after finding out a 37 year family secret. The father whose name I carried is not my biological father. After finding out, I found it necessary to always speak my truth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely go to Marlow’s Tavern, one of my favorite restaurants. We’d go to “World of Coca Cola”to try the different versions of the brand. I would definitely take my friend to Atlantucky, a new brewery off Northside Drive Most importantly, we would walk up, down, and around Stone Mountain.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My grandmother Lillian Allen, a.k.a. Nannie believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. She and Michael Jackson, of course are the reasons why I strive to be the best I can be and to give my time to those in need.
