We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiana, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
First I would never say give up on your dreams and the things you aspire to be or do in life. Yes some times things don’t work out in your favor but that does not mean give up. I’m an new lash artist in a world full of lash artist that are more advanced than me. It can be discouraging at times when your work does not look the best or your not getting as many clients but one thing you have to remember is that your new to an industry you probably never been in before and it may take some time to get to where you want to be. I also take it as encouragement as well because I know as long as I continue to work hard on my craft I will elevate as an lash artist, and that goes for anyone don’t give up, continue to work on your dreams even if it means you have to go back to the drawing board and think of new ideas or how to grow your brand.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I would say what I am most is proud of is how I have pushed my self to start my business and work on my craft after everything I been through in the past couple of months. I got into an bad accident back in August 2021 I wasn’t able to walk on my own for months and it’s something I still deal with but I pushed myself to start my business during that time because I knew becoming an lash artist was what I wanted to do and I wanted more for myself. Yes, it came with challenges, there were times where I got frustrated and thought about giving up or trying something else but this is something I know I want to do as a career and I have a passion for lashing and I still have challenges now but any challenge that may come my way I face it head on and keep pushing through. My brand goal that I would want the world know is that I am here to make every person that lays on my table feel even more beautiful than they already are.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If they wanted to go for a brunch scene would take them to breakfast at Barney’s. Their brunch is so good and the vibe there is perfect. Puttshack is a fun place to go for a series of mini golfing and they also have food and drinks there. Fins and feathers is good for dinner, vibes and drinks and they have a live DJ there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course God has helped me through all my battles and if it wasn’t for him I probably wouldn’t be in the position I am in today. My friends and family has always been there for me through everything. They are always there to encourage me and give me advice when I need it, and for that I am forever thankful and grateful for them. Also Mya (PrettyMinksByMya) I went to her to take my lash course, and she taught me what I needed to know and even now when I’m having trouble with something or have any questions she’s always there to help me.
