We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Baldwin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tia, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?

The most important lesson my business has taught me is to never dilute the vision. As an entrepreneur, it’s definitely a challenge to see the vision through until fulfillment. In the process of reaching goals in business, it’s easy to forget how far you’ve come. Sometimes you may get the urge to be disappointed or think you’re failing. In times like this, it’s so important to remember where you started. You’ve literally taken the God-given vision you had and brought it to reality. You can’t take that lightly. I know we all have big visions for our businesses that may look far out, but the only way to lose is to give up or dilute the vision. I believe if I have a vision and I commit to seeing it happen, it will. My diligence will be rewarded.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Supernatural Hair Care is a growing hair care company. We make organic hair care products that are both sustainable and effective. We are most excited about our expansion into retail stores and opening salons in our community. We are proud to serve girls and women on their hair journey, helping them to care for themselves on a higher level. We’ve learned to listen to our customers, meet their needs, and even offer them innovative solutions they didn’t know they needed. We want people to know the intention we put in each product and service we offer.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s a great question. I love to sing so we would definitely go to a karaoke bar downtown. Sid’s Gold Bar, TinRoof, or Bookies Bar & Grill. The DIA is a must, this art museum is huge and there’s so much to see. We would go for sushi at Ronin in Royal Oak. We’d have to shop some black-owned businesses in the city of course. I’m a little introverted at times so I’d like to hang in a more intimate setting, maybe just chill by the water and be in nature. We’d end the week by seeing some art, fashion, poetry, and drinks at Spotlite Detroit. I think that would be a great week

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I really want to give a shoutout to God. He has blessed me with a vision, mentors, like-minded friends, with resources. He’s responsible for any success I may have or will have in the future.
