We had the good fortune of connecting with The Litas Atlanta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The Litas, what is the most important factor behind your success?
THE LITAS MISSION IS TO INSPIRE AND EMPOWER WOMXN THROUGH COMMUNITY AND OUR SHARED LOVE OF MOTORCYCLES; TO LIVE A LIFE THEY LOVE FULL OF FREEDOM AND ADVENTURE. TO SHOW WOMXN THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY SET THEIR MIND TO AND SHOW UP IN THE WORLD HOWEVER THEY DESIRE.

WE ARE A GLOBAL COMMUNITY WITH A FOCUS ON THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, BRINGING TOGETHER ALL AGES OF WOMXN, ALL RIDING LEVELS, ON ALL TYPES OF MOTORCYCLES. WITH INCLUSIVITY AS OUR FOCUS, WE FOSTER AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE RIDERS ARE GREETED WITH OPEN ARMS.

And the most important factor in the success of our mission is the members themselves and our shared passion for riding.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are a local branch of a global community of female motorcycle riders. The original Litas was founded in 2015 by three women in California. Our local Atlanta branch was founded in 2018. Our social group seeks to bring women together through our shared love of riding. We desire to empower women, build each other’s confidence and skills, and support one another in a predominantly male hobby. We are a safe space for women to be themselves, speak up for what they believe in, and live freely on two wheels.

We hold workshops for our members to learn how to maintain their bikes, ride safely in groups, and review road rules and safety signals. We meet once a month for a bike night where we hang out and get to know one another as well as a monthly group ride to various destinations all over Georgia.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would take our visitors on a trip to visit various bike nights around town. Then we would take them to the North Georgia mountains to experience the thrill of riding the curvy mountain roads on two wheels. We’d head back to town to visit one of the numerous local breweries and eat at locally owned restaurants. And of course, no trip to Atlanta is complete without a stop in to the Georgia Aquarium.
