We had the good fortune of connecting with Tevin Isom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tevin, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
First, I was a sneaker reseller in the Atlanta area for 2 years until I decided to create my own sneaker brand. My entire business was mapped out in a 5 year plan. My first 2 years of the plan, I would resell Jordans, Nikes or whatever sneaker I could to build a strong clientele/following. Once my community was built, in years 3-5 I would roll out my own sneaker for the world to buy.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
This business was built on pure hard work and dedication. I started this business back in 2020 when covid started. I finally hung up my football cleats and started selling sneakers. All of my character traits that I gained while playing football, I used that in building my business and I feel like that’s what sets me apart from the rest. Enduring long hours, not negotiating with my feelings, doing the right things when no one is around are characteristics of a successful business owner.

Building this business was far from easy, I had to learn a totally different lifestyle. I had to learn marketing, accounting, sales. Having the mental awareness and cognition helped me learn at an extremely high rate.

I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way, from business is a people’s game not a numbers game. It’s about relationships and how you engage with your customers. If you’re driven by the numbers, it’s going to be a uphill battle because some days you won’t reach your quota but you can always make a impact on someone life so I use that principle in my business as well as my life.

I want the world to know that mental health is a priority! No matter how much success you have, if your mental isn’t right, you won’t know how to enjoy it or regenerate it. I take my mental health seriously and I work at it daily whether it’s working out, meditating or creating designs for my sneaker. I’m always in the right headspace no matter what!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, things first we would go to Wadada over in the west-end to pick up a smoothie or a vegetarian/vegan breakfast platter. Second, we would go to the art district downtown to see the art and murals around that area.
Third, lunch at the Forrest Eatery. They have multiple restaurants in the area to chose from
Heading into the night for nightlife, I like to hang at red martini (Buckhead), painted pins (Miami Circle) or a nice dinner at Nobu or Ray’s on Killer Creek up in Alpharetta.

People should check out the High Museum for all things art and history.
Vickery Creek Park in Roswell, it has a huge waterfall and a hiking trail.
Piedmont park on a Saturday is always refreshing. It’s always something fun going on there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I like to thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for everything because none of this would be possible without him. I like to thank my family for keeping me grounded and focused on my goals and aspirations. I like to shoutout my “isoed” Community for all the support since day one of this journey. I like to thank my friends for being a helpful and supportive throughout my growth. I like to thank myself for staying disciplined and consistent with the process!
