Hi Terkaa, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
What inspires me is the future. I look towards my future knowing that all this hard work I do now is going to pay off eventually. Knowing that I get an opportunity to progress and improve myself every day inspires me to do better. My family specifically my parents are another inspiration of mine. they are very hardworking people, and seeing how hard they worked to provide a better lifestyle for me and my siblings inspires me every day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I run a clothing brand called CommonConscious. At first, it was a hobby that later flourished into a passion. In the early stages of my brand, I was making t-shirts and hoodies with subtle meaning but it wasn’t really me, Although it had a bit of traction with it, I knew that’s not all I wanted to be known for. So I took over a year off trying to find inspiration, dropping everything regarding the brand so I could come back with a clear mind and fresh ideas. Throughout the Gap, I’ve been learning about the new direction I want to take my brand in and the image I want to portray; something I’m doubling down on is focusing on the quality of my items. With each new product I make, I always try to step out of my comfort zone and try something different. I like to make unique clothes that could possibly start a conversion because I know at the end of the day, that’s what I want to be known for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
if I had to show someone around the area I would take them to the beautiful sensory of the city such as the natural things such as the Vickery Creek Waterfall, botanical gardens, and also the various art museums in the city specifically, The high measure of art because the whole environment of the building down to the layout is an interesting thing to view to me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s a lot of special people in my life that played a role in where I am today. It a lot of them to name specifically but to name a few Lawrence, Abraham, Tessy, along with many other people Each of these people have impacted me in ways that I’m forever grateful for the lessons they taught me.
