We had the good fortune of connecting with Teresa Moody and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teresa, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The death of my son, Myron E. Moody, Jr., tried “all my emotions”. It lead me to write and published my first book, “My Faith Brought me Back”. In this book, I share how you through faith and a willingness to cope with the loss of a loved one, how God will lead you back to Him. I’ve received a lot of positive feedback.
Several people stated to me, “as they read my book, they received their healing from grieving the loss of their love one”. Others shared; “I love the transparency of the author and the tips on how to deal with the lost of a love one. “This book was beyond amazing and I recommend that everyone read it. We all suffer the pain of losing a loved one in our lives, this book provides words that will soothe the soul.
It will also let you know that your faith in God will bring you through any trial or tribulation in your life”.
“Powerful!!!! Anyone who has lost a loved one or not will be blessed by this book! Amazing Testimony, Amazing God”!!!!
“For anyone dealing with loss, for anyone in pain, this is for you. Mrs. Moody shares the turmoil, the journey, and restoration! Very good read”!
This book is also being shared in Federal Institutions. I received a comment from an inmate which stated, “Your book reaches more areas than just loosing a love one. I shared your book with several inmates and they were touched by your book, it’s giving them hope”.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I retired from Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole, in Lake Wales, Florida. I worked for the State of Florida 24 years. During that time I came across many challenges. My faith in God, encouragement from my husband and family, helped me overcome them.
I quit school when I was in the 11th grade. I went to a trade school at, “Ridge Vocational School”, where I studied for my GED and a trade in Clerk Typist.
My greatest accomplishment is when I decided to go back to school. I wanted to show my children, if I could do it, they could too. However, I’m most proud of my children. Seeing them work on accomplishing their dreams gives me joy.
I’ve learned, “A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits”. No matter what I face in life, I find my strength through God’s Word. He promised me in Hebrews 13:5, “He would never leave or forsake me”. Reading and applying Philippians 4:13 to my life, I learned that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
My excitement comes from helping others. I want the world to know that my vision is to see people heal from grief, pain, and to help them find joy, peace, and faith in God!
I accepted my call to ministry, January 23, 2000, and have enjoyed ministering at women’s conferences, church services, and more. I’ve also taught Sunday School classes in various churches, ranging from elementary, teenagers, to adults. I’ve held the office of president and director, of both youth and adult choirs.
I’m a recorded Gospel artist with my brother Nathaniel Ware. On February 1, 2021, I released my first-single, “Hallelujah All Praise Belongs To You”.
As aforementioned, my love for writing led me to sharing the tragic loss of my son, in my first book “My Faith Brought Me Back”, May 23, 2017.
I became a Self-publisher, January 6, 2021, when I published my second book, “Think, Believe, Speak & Achieve”.
I want to encourage everyone to, “Never give up on your dreams”. If you can think, believe and speak it, you will achieve it.
I studied “Psychology with a concentration in Christian Counseling” and “Religion” at “Liberty University”.
I reside in Central Florida with my “King”, Elder Myron E. Moody, Sr.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Place to worship, “New Divine Church of God by Faith”. Some of my most favorite places to eat are: “First-Watch”, Mediterranean Grill, Ovation and Harbor-side. I would take them to our beautiful park, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I would also find other varies places in the vicinity to shop.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I give honor to God. Without his support, guidance, I wouldn’t have made it thus far. Although they are both deceased, I yet give honor to my parents, father, Eddie Ware and mother, Myrtice B. Nelson Ware. They raised me to be God-fearing, a woman of integrity and they taught me to go after my dreams.
I call him, “My King”, my amazing, thoughtful, loving husband, Myron E. Moody, Sr. I really believe there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for me. When I wanted to give up, he motivated me to keep going. He’s yet motivating me.
My pastor and Superintendent of the Daytona District, Church of God by Faith, encourages me through preaching the Word of God. His lovely Queen Kimberly Smith, inspires me, by being a living example of what it means to push, even when you don’t feel like pushing.
My Voice Instructor, Ashley Kimbrough, inspires, and challenges me. My Praise-team Leader, Sheila Feagin-Iles not only inspires me; she’s also one of my top mentors.
My husband, children and grandchildren; is what motivates me to keep pushing.
My siblings have been there for me my entire life. Supporting and encouraging me every step of the way. My sister, Sheryl A. Camacho has been my best friend and life coach from day one. My brother Jonathan Ware consistently checks on me, prays and encourages me.
My brother Jeffrey Ware, can just call me and say, “I love you sis”, that lifts my spirit. My sister Lisa’s smile, lightens up my world.
My daughter Eboni has been my sunshine in dark days. My twin brother, Terry Ware, was my second example (dad was the first), showing me what it means to be a man. He’s encouraged me and never stopped pushing me to be the best I can be. My sister-in-laws, Monica D. Ware and Adrienne Ware are my top supporters. My nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles also supports me.
My brother Nathaniel Ware is the reason I became a Gospel-Artist. He asked me to sing a duet with him on his second CD, “Flowing in Diversity”. He is my accountability partner. With God’s direction and Nathaniel’s guidance and help, I released my first single, “Hallelujah All Praise Belongs to You”. He’s also my Music-Producer and Music-Manager.
My daughter Marsha Rowe, is my prayer-partner and Business Manager. Marsha goes above and beyond to help me in business.
My son, Terry Ware, Sr. also goes above and beyond to push my business. He started out being my Publisher and because of him, I’m a Self-Publisher.
My son Demetrius and daughter Naatrai consistently encourages me to keep going.
Pastor James Stevenson and First-lady Carrie Stevenson, my spiritual parents, played and as it yet playing a great role in my life. Because of God, my family and their spiritual guidance, I was able to overcome the death of my son, Myron E. Moody, Sr. It also gave me the strength to write my first book, “My Faith Brought Me Back”.
I’m blessed to have an infinite number of friends, godchildren and Pastors, whose mentored me and deserves credit and recognition. They are yet helping me in my story.
