We had the good fortune of connecting with Tequia ‘StormyMonday’ Gladden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tequia ‘StormyMonday’, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Consistency and Reinvention! I get discouraged like anybody else BUT I never give up, I never stop, I am constantly creating new ideas and new ways to stay relevant. I have reinvented myself and my business many times! I stay fresh and new.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Renaissance Woman. I am multi talented and gifted. I told God that I would use every gift. I started with acting and singing in Gospel Plays. Next, I started a headwrap and womens accessories business. Then, I began a Comedy career with Mike on the Mic Comedy shows where I am the Comedic Host, which opened the door to a role in Comdy movie, Liquor Run’, a HallMills Production. Following that I co-wrote a play, ‘Love in a Time of Mass Incarceration. Amongst all of these things I also host, ‘CATEGORY 5 PODCAST on YouTube.

I am a woman who believes in every gift that I have. I am most proud of how I push thru adversities with ease. The road to success is a rough road but rewarding.
I am excited about the play. To see my words come to life brings me unspeakable joy. The podcast is one of my favorite projects. It gives me the freedom to share my personality and gift of gab!

I speak life in everything that I do. I can’t wait for the world to experience ME and all of my creations and roles!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go to Peidmont park for a festival. Eat from the food trucks and drink mixed drinks from local vendors. To top the night off we would grace Chicago Pizza in Smyrna! We would drink long Island Ice Teas and order garlic wings.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you to my friends Mike Ross and Boris Franklin for motivating me to keep striving for greatness!
