We had the good fortune of connecting with Tennika Stokes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tennika, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
To learn from my past while being confident enough to accept my faults and keep pushing. A lot of times we beat ourselves up for mistakes we’ve made like it’s our second time living. We only get one life so at best we should show ourselves the utmost compassion as we navigate through it. We don’t know what we don’t know, until we know better!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Yes gladly. I’m a serial entrepreneur, Gates Millennium Scholar, Self-Published Author, Chiropractic Medical Student and Passive Income CEO Mentor Coach.

Most recently listed as being the #1 New Seller on Amazon for a book out of my Passive Income Guide series that launched this past January & available at both Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.

I created The Passive Income CEO Academy online course & mentorship program for aspiring passive income earners that want to enjoy life more and struggle less financially. The Passive Income CEO Academy is a series of online courses created to launch and scale specific passive income opportunities to fully automated businesses allowing the CEO to buy back their time from mundane activities & instead convert that time to enjoy the things they love most.

I’m also the Owner of a beauty health & lifestyle brand called Melanin-ology Empire.

Melanin-ology Empire is a beauty, health, & lifestyle brand that provides beauty and lifestyle product experiences designed to assist users in reinventing their connection with their bodies, hair, and self-confidence. We are a product-based brand with a product range of luxury flat irons, hair brush straighteners, vitamin supplements, cosmetics, portable on the go blenders, & automatic 360 photo booths. All of our products are available on payment plan options allowing affordability for any budget for only a fraction of the product’s retail price.

In addition to being a full-time entrepreneur, I am a full-time doctoral candidate and recipient of the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship. I attribute my success to a network of mentors and most importantly spiritual favor. With a sincere passion for my line of work and a tenacious drive to succeed, I plan to make even more colossal changes in the world around me.

I’ve reached where I am today by staying the course despite difficult life challenges being inevitably inserted into my path. The greatest tools that I’ve developed on my journey are adaptability and how/when to pivot. It was certainly not easy, as life tends to typically not be. However, the key to being able to successfully reach my current position took diligence, discernment, and the ability to adapt and pivot to overcome the rising challenges presented in my life.

Important lessons I have learned along the way are “Every day is a challenge and a chance to do better or start over. To aim for a peaceful day no matter what and when the day veers off from that peace trust what is happening will all work out!”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The most interesting places to check out and must-visit locations in my itinerary would be

1.. For one of my favorite southern breakfast spots a visit to Atlanta Breakfast Club is a must!

2. Jeju Sauna, It’s Just minutes from Atlanta, in Duluth GA is a unique spa experience and affordable place to relax and be pampered for the whole family!

3. For a nice lunch spot visit Get cute and take yourself to Hippie Hibachi for vegan hibachi.

Bonus Lunch spot: Metro West

4.. Sandbox VR – Atlanta, Our socially immersive gaming experience combines full-body motion capture and high-quality haptics to provide unprecedented realism and complete immersion that’s not possible with home VR systems or other location-based VR venues. Groups of up to six friends transport into their action movie experience, freely roaming the VR space as they enter exclusive virtual worlds and rely on each other to succeed in games specifically designed to be social experiences.

5. For Dinner it will be a pick between West End Soul Food and Southern Fire Kitchen for a nice southern dinner meal.
