We had the good fortune of connecting with TELEIGHA PEAVY and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TELEIGHA, what do you attribute your success to?
How did I begin? It’s all thanks to my grandmother! My grandmother is a Southern Belle. She believes that women should always wear jewelry, especially earrings. I used to get in trouble because I didn’t particularly appreciate wearing jewelry (I was a tomboy growing up). After I had my first child, I had to find ways to avoid falling into postpartum because I had to stay solid and alert for her and keep going. The solution was to make myself feel better both on the inside and outside. So when I dress, I dress even with matching jewelry. I eventually came to love jewelry. Now you can’t stop me from wearing unique pieces made by me. Don’t get me wrong. I admire the David Yurman pieces and other designers as well. However, I am my favorite thus far !

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

Decorating and crafting have always been my passion. I went to craft and home decor stores just browsing. I wanted to start making my jewelry. But beads chipped, so I begin researching about gemstones. Here I am, about to embark on my most significant venture ever. I am making jewelry people will adore and love just as much as I do. Each stone and crystal I work with are handpicked and handmade into unique pieces. I feel complete and proud of my pieces each time I make something. However, it’s just a challenge to get it out there. Biggest thing I learned that because of the algorithm of the social media ads, you have to have a big budget to see results. So, being able to have one is the issue. I’ve learned that the same principals applied to my other business, should be applied here- budgeting and management. Once I incorporated that and strategies, then things started to fall in place.
I want the world to know that designing jewelry is my biggest passion, creating something unique and bold is my joy ! Wearing jewelry has always been a part of me from my grandmother requiring us to wear it, to using them as tools to overcome postpartum. When I create, I make sure it’s not like any other designers, you can’t get it from anywhere else or seen it anywhere else but at L.Styles, LLC !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Check out the City’s town centers, always events in the parks. Many festivals and shows here as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My close friends and family saw my many designs I was doing, and was immediately helping me come up with ideas and plans on how can I get my jewelry line out there.
