Meet Teja (Tay) Moore: Owner of Perfect Pout Cosmetics, LLC.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Teja (Tay) Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teja (Tay), can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I come from a family of hustlers. My mom has owned several of her own businesses and till this day I’ve never met anyone that hustles the way she has my entire life and my dad has had his business for 20 years! So growing up under that entrepreneurial umbrella it lit a flame in me at a very early age and I knew that one day I would follow in their footsteps and own my own business. Since childhood I was always into lipgloss and lipstick and really all things beauty. I could never leave the house without something on my lips and as I entered into adulthood I started to sell them for other brands, but it wasn’t until last year when I realized “Why sell other brands products when I can have my own” so I started Perfect Pout Cosmetics.

However I was definitely scared and even doubted myself several times, often wondering if I was making the right decision. I talked it over with my husband and he was very supportive right from the start and told me that I should do it. When I’m my worst critic he’s right there reminding me how great I am. And lastly my daughter, she was a MAJOR part of my thinking behind starting my own business. As a parent you want the best for your children and you want them to have a secure future so in the end I really do this for her because I want to teach her just like my parents taught me, that you can achieve great things in life.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is Perfect Pout Cosmetics and it is a non-toxic, cruelty free cosmetics brand. We focus on simply ENHANCING your naturally perfect pout, not take it away! In a market place where there are many different brands that look similar, it’s important to set yourself apart. I’ve spent a lot of time on researching the right ingredients for my products before starting this business. I knew I wanted to have a brand where I’m able to help my customers save money because I firmly believe you shouldn’t have to spend a lot of money to look and feel beautiful. Beauty should never be unattainable, instead it should be where quality and affordability meets.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

There are so many great things to do in Atlanta, some of the places I would take them would be Ponce City Market which has a great food hall they can choose from a wide variety of things to eat, then go up to Skyline Park which is on the roof of Ponce City Market and enjoy the games , the rides and the view ! Lastly The Atlanta Beltline which is perfect for walking and riding your bike . I love to visit all of these places when I go to Atlanta because you can’t go wrong with either of them. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband for believing in me, my family and friends that have truly supported me and lastly I’d like to thank my parents for instilling in me that I can do anything I put my mind too.
