We had the good fortune of connecting with Teferah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teferah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Am a recording artist and am a big guy so mostly in Kenya we don’t have a lot of brand on the Big and Tall category,So i started a clothing brand named “Kirkos” and we create street wear apparels in all sizes and we started our flagship store in Ethiopia 5 years ago.So i can say my thought process came out of necessity.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Am an award winning musician based in Kenya,Coming from a poor family ,being succesful in music has always looked like a far off dream,it was hard took long days and nights of dedication till i got Signed by Mpact Muzik and started doing music and developing my skills.I would like the. world to know if you can dream it you can achieve it,work hard and don’t fall back take rests but never give up.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
am From Nakuru kenya,we got amazing safaris,i would take them to eat our local food like “Nyama Choma” open grill beef with our corn bread “Ugali” and some kales, amazing soul food, then we hit up the club and i know them the culture here.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out Mike Minor who is my CEO at Mpact Muzik who gave me my first capital in starting my brand and overall mentorship,Tory Lynn who always advises me on my brand an gives her fashion experience in the aesthetics of the business.
