We had the good fortune of connecting with Team Manny Sazón and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Team, is there something you believe many others might not?
We strongly disagree with the conventional advice of not mixing family with business. Some of the most successful businesses in America are family-owned, and their names often proudly display the family name. We believe that family-owned businesses are the best because they are built on trust, shared values, and a deep sense of commitment.
The key thing for us is remembering why it’s called a family business and not a business family. Family always comes first. Our family’s unity and support have been extremely important for our success, and we extend that same care to our supporters who have become part of our extended family. We believe in looking out for them just like we look out for each other, creating real connections that go beyond business transactions and into genuine relationships.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We pursued a creative career because art, in any form, is a way to express ourselves. Through culinary arts, we share our identity, culture, and love for one another. Just as others express themselves through painting, music, or writing, we share our passion and creativity through our food. We’re excited and proud of what we’ve created. Starting any business is challenging, especially with a new concept. it takes resilience and persistence to overcome adversity. We’ve found a way to make it familiar and approachable. These challenges make our success even more rewarding.
For us, Sazón isn’t just flavor or seasoning. Sazón embodies the experience, passion, and vibe we add to the city. It’s what we bring to the table and a way of life that infuses everything we do with heart and soul.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’ve had an awesome time partnering with some of the greatest breweries around! Our favorites include NoFo Brew Co., Cultivation Brewing, Six Bridges Brewing, and Gate City Brewing Company. These spots not only offer fantastic drink options but also have amazing staff and the best vibes around. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’re inspired by many people, organizations, and books that have contributed to our success. Shout out to the team at Q’Paso Latin Grub, Lindley Development, Mr. Taco, and Food Trucks Unlimited. Great books we’ve read include, The Lean Startup by Eric Ries, and The Food Truck Handbook by David Weber. We’re especially grateful to our customers whose support propels us forward on this journey. Thank you for being a vital part of our story.
