Meet Taylor Richards | Raw Reads Psychic Business

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Richards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting a psychic reading service was a HUGE risk because of the negative reaction from friends, family, and even myself. I knew it would lead me on a detour inside the same path I was already on. I started a new chapter in my life two years ago, with millions of ideas of doing something different for myself. After understanding that my family had previously informed me about my gift, I decided to investigate on my own.

I started college with a blank slate. I hadn’t started the readings at school yet, but I knew I needed to do my own research to move forward. I studied YouTube readings for a time, and even used it for my own benefit since I didn’t have enough money to pay for a reading, so I researched all of the most recent psychic influencers in my generation, and it was incredibly inspirational.

When I returned home for Christmas 2020, I purchased my first two oracle decks, and it was genuinely “magical.” It may sound strange 😂, but the first time I handled the cards, I was literally taken aback. It’s as if I channeled Storm from X-Men. True story: I was meditating outside with them when I left to fetch some incense; I returned with flipped-over cards on a non-windy day. I arrived shouting, and strangely, they were all correct. It provided me the motivation I needed to share it with others.

I practiced as much as I could on my family and friends, even if they were suspicious; but I was fortunate to have them with me on this path. Starting my psychic business has always been a journey in and of itself, whether it was via the use of new cards, new strategies, dealing with dubious people, new energies, and so on. I must constantly maintain my ground and trust that I am being directed and protected at all times. My business generated more faith and less fear.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is first-timer friendly because a lot of people think of a psychic/intuitive business as “scary” or “unrealistic”. So I definitely take my time with the clients that aren’t quite ready yet. I always have to keep in mind that my business is not for everyone. Majority of the readings I receive are general or love-based. I do let my clients know before and after in the video that I send off in email, how I channel their energy to my cards and myself as well. My services vary due to how many cards you are wanting to receive, but I do offer sessions along with MONTHLY subscriptions with unlimited EVERYTHING. Raw Reads is an upcoming business that is dedicated to helping individuals grow, love, and self-evaluate. It all started with wanting to help with my voice. My podcast Melanin Teen Therapy; then shifted to wanting to help others spiritually. My business does not discriminate or harass clients because of race, color, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or genetic information.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them out on a self-care day. I would start with an amazing facial by Artistry by Teresas LLC, to get their facial detoxification. Then take them on an outing at Atlanta Botanical Garden. Botanical garden is a very peaceful walk-through beautiful scenery.
Lastly, end it off with a night at a comedy club to get some good energy flowing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to recognize the ones that have faith in what i do. It is difficult being a young liberated African American woman with no religious beliefs in a predominantly Christian and Jehovah Witness family.

Last but not least, I’d like to express my gratitude to myself. I had my worries at first, but it was all worth it since I devoted a different approach to myself and my business.
