We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylah Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylah, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is endurance. As I’m sure we all know by now, being an entrepreneur is not for the weak. There were plenty of times where I asked myself, “Is it really worth it?” Today I’m able to say, yes! TaylahMadeTresses is not only a business, but it’s MY business, MY brand, MY legacy and that’s something I could never bring myself to give up on.

What should our readers know about your business?
TaylahMadeTresses is set apart from any other hair company simply because, everything is done with intention. Every decision, every product, every post, every sale, every single piece of my business has always been brainstormed and thought out thoroughly with passion, dedication and quality. The most exciting part of my business venture is the smile I bring each and every one of my customers. Their happiness and satisfaction fuels me to go harder. They (my supporters) are a vital element in the reason why my business is where it is today. Was it easy? The furthest from it but it was worth it. Every sleepless night, every sale that didn’t go as projected, every “friend” who I thought would support me, were just obstacles that I learned weren’t prejudice to just me. It’s all apart of the entrepreneurial world. I had to realize that if this is what I really want, then I have to stay focused on the prize and block out the negativity. I want the world to know that when I say TaylahMadeTresses is uniquely tailored to you, I mean it! As I stated before, everything I do is done with intention. The intention of my brand is to bring out the unique beauty in each and every one of my supporters. To bring out the confidence and boost the self esteem of all the lives who encounter my brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the city for a week long trip, i would definitely take her to American Deli off rip because how can you come to the city without hitting one of the OG places? After we go to American Deli, i would take her to the Battery (even though its not in the city) or the Aquarium. I would like to mention Little 5 Points and The Underground as well because they always have little artistic values and creative ideas that i think would benefit both of us. Plus its a nice vibe and a nice area to take photos and create content. Honorable mention, Sweetwater Creek White Trail! The most fun, interesting, exciting people, places or things to check out would definitely be the Atlanta Food hall, Krog Street tunnel, Little 5 points, iFly Atlanta, and the Atlanta Illuminarium

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a huge shout out to my dear friend & graphic designer/branding specialist, Tiffani Dawson. She’s been here since the beginning of TaylahMadeTresses (she’s the one that helped me with the name), she created my logo and does all my flyers/promotions. Another very important person in my business story & in my life is my best friend Shayla Satterfield. She’s also been here for me since the beginning, even before TaylahMadeTresses. She was my FIRST customer and the take off of my business. Shayla is my go to whenever I need input on a business venture or idea, which units to offer, my pricing, everything! I know she’ll guide me in the right direction every time. Additional & very honorable mentions are my mother Kimberly, my cousin Ebonee (my hairdresser) and every single person who has ever placed an order with me. My customers or as I prefer to say, my supporters, are the soil to my crops. To each and every person who has purchased from me, promoted my brand or even simply shared a post on social media, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
