We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiyana Blood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tatiyana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks landed me from doing something I thought I loved; to doing something I truly love. I believe life is about trial and error and in order to be successful you have to take risks. My biggest risks was dropping out of law school and starting my own entertainment firm with a group of skilled women (After Ours, LLC). It was always instilled in me by family at a young age that I would be an attorney so I based by educational path off of such. However, I found myself unsatisfied as I sat in those law classes because it was something pulling me in a different direction. I pondered on the idea of dropping out for weeks but one day, I took a leap of faith and dropped out. That one risks has planted me in places I could and would not have ever imagined. Fast forward, I manage very successful acts in the entertainment industry such as Duke Deuce, Glockianna, Sunny Surff, Ladia Yates, and more.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After Ours is a Marketing, Communications, Production, and Management firm designed with entertainers and creatives in mind that help them tap into the culture. Our mission is to provide artists, athletes, and moguls with resources, support, and opportunities to build an everlasting brand. We built this firm to support a collective of artists, entertainers, and moguls so they can build their brand authentically without sacrificing their artistry.

At After Ours, we help experiment, create, and develop your artistry and business ideas so you can lead successful brands that have an everlasting impact on the culture and help you create impactful solutions to move your craft forward.

We are a full-service boutique firm, which means because of our size, you receive the type of attention from senior associates that you would not receive from a larger corporate firm.

We understand the impact the culture has on society. We value authenticity over gimmicks. We move with the culture, not against it.

As a Black-woman-owned and operated firm, we recognize the impact you would have on the economy if your brand received the support and resources you needed to get strategic, develop a process, and show up as the authentic artist you are. We are your talent manager, project manager, marketing team, and public relations all in one.

When you join our firm, you become family. Your goals are our goals, and we’re ready to go after ours.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shout-out to my hometown, Warrior Alabama. It is a very small, southern town that sits as a northern suburb of Birmingham. AL. I feel that everyone there raised me to be who I am today and although we are small on the map, we are never small in success.
