We had the good fortune of connecting with Tataianna Devers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tataianna, why did you pursue a creative career?
I Pursued an artistic /creative career because my friends would always ask me to do their hair growing up. Around the age of 14 my mother allowed me to start being creative with my own hair. At that age I was doing things like cutting my own hair in certain trending styles. That was the beginning of my future as a Cosmetologist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always been the beauty professional that took pride in my work and the love for hair. What set me apart from others is that I’m very big on healthy hair care. A client will not convince me to provide services that would either compromise the integrity of their hair or provide further damage to an unhealthy state of hair. What makes me most proud is that they appreciated my honesty during consultation. I am were I am today because of my professionalism and great customer services with my clients. It is not easy dealing with the public daily and people from all walks of life. You never know where people come from and what they are going through. I overcame some of those challenges by being a healthy hair care specialist. Many clients would say that that have been to another professional who didn’t have a passion for healthy hair like I do. I also learned that you can’t please everyone, so knowing who your clientele is very important.

Currently I am rebranding, so be on the look out for Bella Sole’ Par ( Beautiful Silk Hair). Bella Sole’ Par will specialize but not limited to Signature Silk Press services for individuals that love beautiful silky hair, without the harsh chemicals. It’s time to get back to healthy hair, even under the gorgeous weave installations and braids. So many women are loosing their edges or even a full head of hair because many stylist are not educated or don’t have the passion for their craft and just treat is as a hustle. Maybe one day I can become and instructor or open a school for continuing education for life after cosmetology school.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest I really can’t fully answer this question. I’m knew to Georgia from Buffalo, NY. I only been here since March 2021. Yes not very long! We are also still experiencing an pandemic due to covid-19. Although I have heard such amazing things about the city of Atlanta, I have not experienced it much. But I can say that I truly like to have fun. My friends know that we would have an awesome time visiting. However I have experienced that great tasting soul food from The Old Lady Gang owned by Kandi Burress. I have been hoping to get a chance to try Slutty Vegan. So maybe we will make it an adventure and camp out there to get a space in line. That place is packed every time I go to try them out. I heard that Sugar Factory, Ruth’s Chris steak house, Atlanta Zoo, and the Aquarium are all great places to visit. Of course we would need some extra excited and a bit of an adrenalin rush. so we would probably. Spend the day at Six flags over Atlanta to end the trip. I’m Very excited to see what Atlanta, Ga has to offer with networking. Its always a pleasure to meet like minded people that align with your vision.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my instructor in Cosmetology School, Daneen. My apologies but for the life of me I can’t remember her last name. Whew chile. Its hard to remember back to 1999. However, my experience in beauty school while being pregnant was so much easier, thanks to my instructor. There were plenty of times I wanted to just give up. Daneen refused to allow that to be an option for me during that time. She new my passion and drive from the numerous conversations we would have about my future and my inspiring career as a beautician. Daneen was very supportive in my goals. The mentorship she provided as an instructor was amazing, she would always say I will succeed very well in the beauty industry. We all need that person who believes in us more than we believe in our selves; to encourage us along the journey. Daneen did just that! To be honest if it wasn’t for her, I probably would not be where I am today.
