We had the good fortune of connecting with Tari Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tari, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own TV and film production company was driven by a combination of passion for storytelling, a vision for innovation, and a determination to make a lasting mark in the entertainment industry.

A lot of my inspiration comes from personal experiences and beliefs that I want to share with others. I’m also equally inspired by the works of great storytellers such as Steven Spielberg, Robert Townsend, Michael Bay and James Cameron.

I believe that cinema can be a powerful tool for social change, promoting empathy, understanding, and awareness of important issues while also providing entertainment and cultural exchange.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am founder and CEO of T&T Management and Production, where I wear multiple hats as a writer, Director, and Executive Producer. My love for the art of storytelling has been ingrained in my from a very early age. Over the past few decades, I have honed my skills writing, directing and producing numerous award-winning short films that have been well-received in the film festival circuit. Being a filmmaker requires a lot of hard, sacrifice and a willingness to take risks and push boundaries. I have learned to appreciate and embody these qualities over the years.

T&T Management and Production is a minority, woman-owned production company with offices in Atlanta, GA and Omaha, NE. T&T is focused on creating compelling stories to share with the world. Our company is comprised of knowledgeable individuals operating with the right mixture of skills, including financing, talent cultivation, foresight, planning, timing and game plan execution. We are a tenacious group of creative individuals knowledgeable in our craft.

We are thrilled to announce that we received a substantial grant from Comcast NBCUniversal, providing us with the opportunity to finance our inaugural full-length feature film, “The Voicemail,” slated for release later in 2024.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I highly recommend Midtown Atlanta for its abundance of shops, eateries, and the magnificent Piedmont Park—a perfect blend of urban charm and natural beauty.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I particularly admire African American Director Robert Townsend, who successfully financed his first feature film independently, a feat I frequently find myself undertaking as well.
